One item that isn't being covered anywhere except for conservative radio is the problem Trump might have with voter Fraud. Yeah, I know it's a rant of mine but this morning it was reported that Alabama (where we live) can't ask for proof of citizenship from voters any longer. All someone needs is a driver's license or state I.D. in order to vote but, and get the "but", you do not need to be a citizen to get a driver's license. A birth certificate and proof of residency is all that is needed to get a license and phony birth certificates are hard to spot. Ergo, in order to vote all a person need do is present their license and declare that they are citizens. I do wonder how many states are feeling this same kind of recent ruling and certainty of fraud. No Habla English. Soy ciudadano estadounidense! In my way of thinking, that's a bunch of "Toro poopoo"!!!
I think as of now Hillary has just lost the election and Trump only needs to keep his mouth closed and the alt- right will finish the job. All they need to do is to have people once voted tell who they voted for. The polls are changing dramatically you even might see Hillary drop out. Check out the daybreak poll.
If Hillary drops out for whatever reason or even dies someone has to replace her. http://teachinghistory.org/history-content/ask-a-historian/20431 Depending on who it is, it can be a game changer in my opinion.
The left will stoop to anything to get "her" elected. I don't know what will happen in November, but it could turn into something none of us believed could happen, or everyone will just give up and let it go. I wonder.
I think that's how it is in CA., @Bobby Cole . You are automatically registered to vote when you get a drivers license. You do need a birth certificate and proof of residency to get a DL. How carefully they check that I don't know. Doesn't matter much in CA anyway because there are enough legal Hispanics here that vote democratic anyway.
Wouldn't it become Bernie again? Personally, if the left is going to win, I prefer him over Clinton, but I don't know all that much about him.
I showed my OR drivers license, and my birth certificate (I think I only had to show my birthcertificate to get my drivers stuff. The voters registration would you believe I can't remember? Geez my memory is not good, either that or I am not paying attention because my head is elsewhere
I've been registered to vote in CA since 2003 so when I just got my DL renewed last year I wasn't paying attention And I only had to bring my current (unexpired) license to the DMV. I vote absentee and it always comes in the mail so don't pay attention again to see what's needed. I started absentee voting when I was working for ES&S and never home for elections. It's easier anyway.
Dang "insert quote" function doesn't work half the time for me on here! @Denise Happyfeet , no, it doesn't necessarily have to be Bernie Sanders is how I read it. A lot of people seemed to like Bernie, I wasn't one of them. I actually kind of like Kaine, Hillary's VP. He's a nice Catholic man...a senator I think so has some political knowledge. Also no skeletons in his closet. A decent family man.
In Maine, according to the stated rules, you need to prove: You are a Maine resident and You are a US citizen or are in the country lawfully. If your social security number is not on file with the Secretary of State, you must provide your social security number. If you believe you are ineligible for a social security number, you must provide an unexpired immigration document, such as an I-94, to help us determine your ineligibility. Additionally, if you have had a legal name change due to marriage, divorce or by court order, you will be required to show appropriate supporting documentation such as a marriage certificate, divorce decree or other court documentation. Then, of course, there is a road test and vision screening. To obtain an identification card, you need to prove: Any person who can prove they are in the US legally and show proof of a physical address in Maine may apply for an official state non-driver identification card. If your social security number is not on file with the Secretary of State, you must provide your social security number. If you believe you are ineligible for a social security number, you must present an unexpired immigration document, such as an I-94, to help us determine your ineligibility. In practice however, anyone who can show that they have had mail delivered to them via a Maine address can get an identification card if they state that they are here legally. That has been reported in the newspaper, and is not simply a rumor. The state believes that it is on them to prove that an applicant is ineligible before it can deny them an identification card. All they have to do is get someone from Maine to let them use their mailing address. This came up in the context of reports that people were coming to Maine from other New England states in order to get an identification card, then using the Maine ID to get identification cards from another state. This is something that our governor was trying to fix, but the last I heard, he had been unable to do so.
You don't always need to take the road test. For about 8+ years I didn't even have to go to the DMV, just renew my DL through the mail. Send a check and I got back my old DL with a different expiration date but the same younger looking pic of the original. Last year I finally had to show up in person and take a vision test and a new pic.
We don't need to take a road test in Maine unless it's your first driver's license. I think that's true in most states. I haven't had to take a road test since I was sixteen. Maine issues driver's licenses that are good for seventeen years now, which is convenient.
