Hi Patsy, I kept the vent fan on. I was still woken up by that loose dog, and was awake for several hours, so I'm tired. Still, I sleep more soundly through the random sounds of the night, other than that howling, barking, growling dog. The others on both sides of me do seem to be quieter since I've been using the whistle. My brain's not engaged, and I keep typoing. I might have to make a pot of coffee. Hope you get a good day of rest and feel better.

I seem to be the only one who is bothered by it. My hearing seems to be amplified by the Fibromyalgia. I wasn't aware of that symptom until recently. This neighborhood has become progressively noisier over the years, also...others have mentioned it, so I know that's not just my imagination or the Fibro, but certain noises really set me on edge, and a snarling/growling/barking dog sure does it. I wish there was something that would take away our fatigue, but nothing seem to be doing the trick right now. If I find something, I'll let you know.

I didn't know you had fibro, @Diane Lane ....must have missed it. I know sometimes you say you're having a bad day and always wondered what you meant.

Feel for you!! Know a woman with it and it's very painful.

Today's the first day of Fall that I'm wearing my 'Winter' bathrobe. Well, one of them, anyway. I have two, one up here and one downstairs. The one downstairs is regular length, this one is petite, because otherwise, I'd kill myself falling down the stairs when I wear it. I did fall down the stairs one time when I had recently moved in, and almost went through the window on the front door, so I'm cautious about such things now.

When I was at the gas station the other day, the cashier gave me the wrong lottery ticket. I wish I'd asked which one she put back, because she separated one out, which was obviously my Powerball ticket, and gave me this other one Texas Triple Chance, instead. It looks as if the top prize on this game is $100,000, which is a far cry from hundreds of millions for Powerball. I don't think there were any winners, at least locally anyway, but I kept my tickets just in case, so I could show that I'd purchased them sequentially, and put in a claim on that ticket.

Check the odds. I used to play Iowa's $100,000 game because the odds were better than the big money games. It worked. Good luck.

Thanks, @Ike Willis, I used to play one like that when I lived in Massachusetts. I think there's another here with a top prize of $100,000, and I'm not against playing it, but I don't think it should cost the same price as a game that has much higher prices, although I do know the odds of a win are better. I haven't checked my tickets from last night, because I'm letting myself hope for a bit more. With as many sweepstakes and contests as I enter, I'm due for another win, although it will most likely be a smaller prize. My buddy is going to the casinos this week and is going to pick up some lottery tickets in ND/SD while there, so my fingers are crossed. If it's a big win, maybe some will slough over to me ;).

I'm happy that I just made my first batch of hummus. I posted the recipe link in the What's for Supper thread, in case anyone's interested. I love chickpeas and hummus, and am glad I was able to make it in my little 3-cup chopper.

I also just got all of the wall clocks changed over to the new time. And, the coffee maker clock and clock radio in the bedroom, as well. Yay, that usually takes me at least a month, so I'm ahead of the game.

Just been thinking about the letter W
Is it called 'double u' because it looks like two of the letter u joined
But then, depends how you write it - if like above, it would be 'double v'
I ponder on things like that :p

And in French, that's how it's pronounced,
    Uu ooh /y/
    Vv veh /ve/
    Ww doobl-veh /dubləve/ <-- how they say W.

I'm tired of big Thanksgiving meals...this year I wish we were just making a pot of turkey and sausage gumbo with rice...and a pumpkin pie with cool whip for dessert.
