Good Sunday Morning, Y'all. It's a sunny day here, but it must be relatively cool, because the AC hasn't turned on. That's always a good thing. I was actually a bit cold in bed reading with the ceiling fan on. I haven't made any coffee yet, but am considering making a pot. I might do that in a bit. I'm almost out of good cat food, so I might run to the store, but not until my hair dries. That was a funny email @Denise Happyfeet! I'm having an allergic reaction to something. It could be the fire ant bites/stings and/or a spider bite. I found a wolf spider in the house the other day, and a mark on my foot, so it could be that. Either way, I've had better weekends, but then again, I've also had worse ones . Hope y'all are having a good one!
I have two spider bites, but just a lil itchy thank goodness! We have wolf spiders too, but I suspect these were smaller, I hope. Talk about strange bed-fellows, LOL!!
@Diane Lane - Its bloomin hot here gal - I was burning in me bed last night, especially me feet which are still burning Go for you ! x
I'm burning too, but not because it's hot out. It's still somewhat warm out, but not hot. I guess I have a fever, but at least I'm home from the store now, and have plenty of cat food. Hope you feel better soon.
I posted this link in another thread, but after reading your post about having the symptoms of hypothyroidism, I thought that I would post it here again for you, @K E Gordon . This is a free online seminar all about thyroid, low thyroid, high thyroid, and no thyroid. It will be a series of talks given by experts in the field of thyroid illnesses. They do offer to sell the whole seminar, but they do not pressure you to buy it, or anything else. The seminar lasts one whole week, from October 24-31; and they will have different speakers and topics each day. Here is the link, and there is a short little video on the signup page that explains more about the thyroid summit, and symptoms of thyroid troubles. http://thyroidconnectionsummit.com
Thank you. Yes, my dad always did his best for me. I'm ashamed to say it, but he deserved a better son. I never thought about looking at YouTube for movies.
Oh, yeah, @Chrissy Page ....... That's where you can find all of those fascinating CONSPIRACY THEORIES ! !
Morning all. Well we finally have rain. It will last for about two days on and off an we will not see more untill next year. Sounds lovely and refreshing for the garden.
Mornin'. Our weather seems to be stuck on blah. Cool, sunny. Nothing interesting going on with that. I can't wait to wake up some morning to see a deep blanket of white rain all over the landscape. When we still lived on our farm, we had a long, fairly steep hill in our front pasture. There was a creek at the bottom. A neighbor boy would come over with his toboggan. On one trip down the hill, we missed the bridge over the creek, going airborne over the bank and into the creek, crashing against the steep bank on the far side. What a ride. Never mind the bloody nose and other assorted bruises. That same neighbor boy came over one day to visit. We got bored hanging out in the house, so off we went, tramping through the snow to our back pasture. Neither of us had a gun, we were just walking about. Friend said lets go down to my house, so off we went, crossing the back of the next couple farms, out of sight of any houses. I stayed at his house awhile, then walked up the road to home. As we were eating supper that evening, the phone started ringing. It was the farmer next to us. He wanted to know if dad was letting hunters into our place, because he saw tracks in the back field of his place. The tracks looked to come from our place and crossed into the farm on the other side of him. That farmer called , and so did the one on the far side of him as well. Evidently, letting hunters in was a no-no. Dad explained the calls to mom, then asked me what we had been up to earlier that day. I told him we just walked down to my friend's place across the back of the next couple farms is all, honest. Dad just laughed and said "well, you and your friend sure stirred up this bunch of nervous Nellies with your walk". Another time, dad spent a winter building a muzzle loading black powder rifle from his large stash of gun parts and pieces. That spring, the gun was finished and looked very much like a Kentucky squirrel rifle. Dad was eager to try it out, so he loaded the barrel with black gun powder, rammed a lead ball down the muzzle, and touched off a shot from our back porch. A few minutes after the shot heard 'round the neighborhood, the phone started ringing. It was our nervous Nellie neighbors wanting to know if he was blowing stumps or something. One complained her chickens probably won't lay now. So, careful out there. Nervous Nellies are everywhere.
@Ike Willis - 'nervous Nellies' so funny You certainly kept everyone on their toes Another disturbed night for us, although Fabs was improving yesterday as soon as he laid down in bed the coughing started up - just awful it is Today I got him a bag of marshmallows, I heard they can help I also googled for remedies and a favourite was 'fresh' pineapple juice, I bought that too and we are both sipping as I type. I also got him a new medicine in the hope it will quell the urge to cough tonight Phew ! I'm beat All you lovely people x
Ok @Patsy Faye , I'll bite. Just how does the marshmallows help with any health problems? Are marshmallows different there? Pineapple juice I can understand, but puffy little sugar balls are hard to think of as healthy. We have a product called Mucinex D that broke up the phlegm in my lungs last month. I found that the liquid made me nauseous, but the capsules worked very well.
