I took the screen shot about 3 mins before I posted it, so not too long ago.

We got several visits the last time I tried Facebook advertising, and may have gotten one new registration from it, so I'm trying it again for a couple of days.

Seven different graphics will alternate with the same wording, and it's only going to run for today and tomorrow. As opposed to regular posts, sponsored ads can be targeted to a specific demographic, such as English-speaking people fifty years old or older, and they will show up in the news feeds of people who aren't related to your friend's list or that of your friends. Like everything else on Facebook, people often "like" it but never visit the site.

I was going to share it on my Facebook page but I didn't want my family looking in here. :)

Also a few Facebook friends I wouldn't want to see here either.

Suggestion, place Welcome and Introductions by itself, instead of people having to guess where it is and having to go through Notices and Announcments, assuming they'll figure out that a Welcome or chance to introduce themselves might be a Notice or Announcement. I sure wouldn't.

Make it obvious and easy for new people to find. Just my 2 cents.

Although it's mentioned in another thread, I thought I'd mention here as well, for those who may have missed it, that the forum software does allow me to change your member name now, and I have it set so that you can change your own member name if, by chance, you have created an account here using a handle rather than a first and a last name.

You can do that by placing your cursor over your profile name in the upper right of the page. A box will pop up with two columns of options. Near the bottom of the second column you will see an option for "Username Change" and that's the one you'll want. We only allow one username change though, so as not to confuse people too much. Exceptions might be made when warranted, however. If you need any help, ask.

The Seniors Only Club forum has been online since January of 2015, and I am pretty excited about the group of people we have here. This is a forum for people who are 50+ or fifty years old or older. Although this might span a lot of years, we tend to have more in common, and some of us have gotten past the age where we need to one-up someone in every forum thread, as you've probably seen in forums that include younger people. Anyone fifty years old or older, and able to write and understand the English language is welcome here, and your English doesn't even have to be all that good.

Please feel free to join in on any discussion or start one of your own if you don't see anything that stirs you to conversation. Other than in this area of the forum, you will usually see me participating in forum discussions under my regular member account -- Ken Anderson.

So, I can change my last name if I want? Time I divorced @Terry Page. :)

We've been separated since June. I'm thinking about it...something that starts with a C but not my real last name, so I can use my real signature. CC

Maybe I'll start another post and ask for suggestions.

Yes, you can. I don't mind when there's a reason for it. I limit the number of changes to one because I don't wand people changing their member name twice a week since this would confuse everyone.

When you change your name, everything you've done here remains, but is replaced with your new name. I don't know, but probably the posts where someone has flagged you as Chrissy Page would carry over, but that wouldn't be a big issue.

Ok, I'll have to think about it, Ken. I don't want to mess things up.

When you sat "flagged" do you mean "tagged"?

Everybody knows I'm Chrissy, last name isn't so important but I do have special ties to CC and you know that's how I sign anyway.
