Wow, that is so interesting that you knew about that @Marilyn Pahl I love the bible, but I haven't read many other books that talk more in depth about those times. Never even heard of King Cyrus!!
Our Jewish Bible is called Torah. But the complete destruction by the Babylonians of our 1st. temple started, the Festival of Hanukkah later on. Getting back to Torah, it can be bought in English language book I have I'm sure not a Hebrew scholar. The King James bible we believe in the Old Testament only. That's because we don't believe in Jesus as the Messiah which is New Testament. We believe in G-d and that he is father to all man including Jesus. G-d the father to all creation. We hyphen G-d because it should only be seen in it's entirety in holy books and Torah. Also if I want to send blessings on a paper with G-d hyphened it gives the person permission to throw it out.
Yes, I do know a quite a lot about the Jewish people. I do know the bible says they are the chosen people of God, and I believe the bible. I've heard of the Torah, but never read it. I think it would be interesting to read. I've been keeping my reading light, even though I am tempted to read more about "real life" politics, etc., but I find I get too overwhelmed. Maybe later I will read the Torah. I love the OT, and have read most of it, although I admit to skipping some of Numbers, and Leviticus
The Torah is the Five Books of Moses. Just got off Amazon they sell Torah English version paperback for $18.83. I got beat up more then once over the "Chosen People" quote..We tried to change subject real quick, without offending anybody. We try to look for the goodness in our friend's heart, not their religion..
And now, somewhat confused, I have my brain set on Trump wearing a Yamulke and carrying a Torah. I thought he was Presbyterian. Oh well, he does have a UUGE backing in Israel from those folks who still retain their U.S. Citizenships but live there. Man, I gotta shake that picture in my head!!

Well, I see where I slipped up with a little history. The Jews slaves under Babylonian rule. The Persians overthrew (Cyrus the Great) Leader of Persia. Cyrus is mention in the Old Testament of the King James Bible. 2 Chronicles 36: 22,23...Daniel 6:28, 10:1-13. Also in Ezra. Trump does have children that are raising their children Jewish. Beside the fact. When a man wears a yamulke it's a reminder, G-d is supreme and man is beneath G-d. In other words, "Don't be such a smarty pants."
