And another A Capella group, Pentatonix...several members of this used to be members of Born free...but this group features a female vocalist as well.. This is a stunning version of leonard Cohens' Hallelujah
I've seen many Flash mob Videos...but come with me this time Putting on the Ritz..in Moscow...what great fun ...
We absolutely LOVE the old Christmas songs. Have a cd of them we play while driving somewhere and on Christmas morning while opening gifts. See, I'm not a "Rocker" all the time!
Ina ...I love El Paso....but have you ever heard Marty Robbins son Ronny sing it?...wow, if you close your eyes you would think it was Marty come back to life...
Thank you @Holly Saunders , I had no idea that Marty Robbins even had a son, much less that he was another great vocalist. I'll have to do a little research. I wonder if he has anything original of his own. I know you listen to quite a bit of music, so I was wondering if you download any of it. I don't know much about that sort of thing, but I was wondering how a person might be doing that in today's time. The last time I had music download, Michael did it with some sort of recording burner machine. That description alone ought to give you a clue as to my technological abilities. I would like to put the music I hear on YouTube on cds for my car. Do you know if there is such a simple device for a tech zombie such as I?
Oh Ina...I used to burn all my music from the computer to CD years ago..for the same reason as you, to lsiten to in my car. I didn't take it from Youtube though, I think if I remember rightly I took it from Windows Media player. That said..it's been a very long time since I burned any music to CD, I don't use windows for a start as a I have a MAC...and also all my music is on my iphone.. so there may be an easier way to do it these days, technology moves so fast. I still have all those CD's that I burned from all my favourite tracks....some great eclectic mix CD's that you would never find anywhere else lol including some home videos I made from still photos and added music to them...I uploaded them to YT as well.. However it's very easy to do, and I've found this tutorial for you , so I'm sure you'll have no problem following it... http://www.dummies.com/computers/op...urn-music-to-a-cddvd-in-windows-media-player/ Let us know how you get on...
Ina, here's a video of Marty with his son..not very long before Marty died...it was Ronny's first release
If you have Spotify, you can find most of the songs that you like on there, and add them into a playlist. I have the free Spotify version, and it will play in shuffle mode anytime you are online and can connect with it. I am not sure if that would work in your car unless you can be online ; but it is a great way to listen to the music that you like when you are at home, and don't want to hunt for each song and play it. I think if you have Spotify Premium, you can also play your playlists offline, which would work in your car; but it is a monthly charge for Spotify Premuim.
I have spotify too Yvonne, I was going to mention it to Ina, but I think it might be a little more complicated to burn music from spoitfy to CD so I didn't want to make things sound too difficult..
I have no idea how to burn CD's, so it is way beyond my expertise, although I think that the Denon stereo that Robin gave me has the capability of burning them from what it looks like to me. Even so, I would rather not burn a CD, even if I could, and using Spotify and Pandora work great for me. I was hoping that it might work for Ina, too, since she can make the playlist of her favorite songs there and be able to play them back anytime she wants to, and not have to even try and make a CD at all.
Yesterday, the Ballroom at the Hotel was empty so figured it was a good time to check the lights. Holiday music was playing and this song came on. How could you not want to do the 'Dance'! ( My moves are like the kid in the orange shirt )
@Tim Burr at least you had good rhythm as that little guy in orange did. If you can imagine putting a bit of the Marine Corps march added to that, that was how my late husband danced. But I truly think that once he heard me laughing, it became his only style of dancing. I think he just liked to hear me laugh. And then there were the Marine ditties he liked to sing while dancing. Now that was funny.
