Good morning it's still dark and just above freezing here at 10am going out for lunch to our local Georgian restaurant later, have a good Friday.. Here is a photo of an Ice Palace built in 2006 near the Hermitage (Winter Palace) down the road from here
@Terry Page - Isn't that smashing I have seen (on the TV) the fabulous villages they build in China all made of ice !! Truly magical
Greetings from the bacon state. Another overcast day of 16 degrees at 6:30am. Factoring in the balmy breeze, we have 7 degrees. Snow on the way this weekend, we're told. I always loved a good snow. Especially now that I don't have to go out or shovel it. I remember shoveling snow as a kid. My parents always insisted I shovel every inch of the walks off, not just a narrow path down the middle. Dad was particular about his lawn too. It had to be mowed just right, trimmed around everything and the sidewalks neatly edged every so often. It was the best looking lawn on the street though. I miss my early teen years. I always had plenty of odd jobs to do, but still had enough free time. Ate too much supper last night. Gotta watch that. I'm liking my own cooking too much. Had beans, beef and rice. Cooked the beef in a skillet, then added some water, rice and a small can of beans. When the rice was done, doused it all with hot sauce and ate it out of the skillet. Only had a skillet and a fork to wash. Now that's fancy dining. Right up there with Martha Stewart. Well, already set one of my liberal traps. Gotta go check for a response. Bye for now.
I am not a fan of cold, snow, ice, nor anything associated with Eskimo draping but yet here I am, coffee cup in hand looking at a prime example of winter. I just saw a Robin break his bill trying to get at the water in the bird bath. and a squirrel with his tongue stuck to a nut. Kinda funny in a weird way. We closed a restaurant and moved to the south because of cold weather, never thinking we would ever have to don heavy coats, pants and boots again. The only good thing about winter wear is I don't have to take my daily diuretic because all I have to do is get bundled up for cold weather complete with gloves, then my body plays a sick trick and I am directed to the water closet. Grin and bear it is the motto for the day just so long as the bear part isn't one of the big white ones stuck on an ice slab traversing down my street. Welcome to the south. Uh yeah. Feels like just south of the North Pole. Otherwise.............It's a good morning and will be a better day! God Bless....Bobby
Is there a bag limit on liberals or are they free game? I didn't see them on the endangered species list but if the EPA gets involved ya never know.
I went to brush my teeth a few minutes ago and lo and behold...my hand is still wearing the "play bandaids" my granddaugher (as Dr. McStuffin) placed on my bo bo's yesterday. I took a shower last night and never noticed them...whatever glue they are using for these play bandaids is really good!
