I think I told y'all that my husband ran a small country store, didn't I? Every year around Thanksgiving he would get in a thousand pounds or more of candy fresh from the factory. OMG, it smelled sooo good and was so good. We would bag it up in 1 or 2 pound bags. He also got fresh fruit. People from miles around would place their order for Christmas boxes. We would get the boxes ready and around Christmas Eve day, they would come by and pick them up. There is a store in the area that still gets candy fresh from the factory. After his health forced him to retire, he would go there and get us our Christmas candy. I didn't do that the last three Christmases since he's been gone. Last week, I got a hankering for some fresh Christmas candy. So I went and got some. I might have gone a bit overboard but, Hey! it's Christmas! I'll eat what I want and share some with family. If we can't eat it all, I'll find somebody to give it to.
We have a old lolly shop (sweet) shop out near the museum I volunteer at (in fact I'm out there latter today ) they make allot of the sweets right there ,it's so popular with tourists ..
I just posted a photo of it @Shirley Martin ..yep it smells yummy it originally opened in 1946 (good year that's when I was born) It was a post office .. the reason it has the old phone box along side of the shop It's about 3 km out of the town
Y'all have red telephone booths in Australia, too?????? I didn't know that. I learned something today.
Not anymore @Shirley Martin ..we only have silver coloured ones now ...that's if you can find one ....with so many having mobiles now( Telstra) has been removing them all
