Mornin'. We have 34 degrees, fog and rain coming. RAINon Christmas day, in Iowa? Unheard of, but, that's what we're promised. Saw it on Facebook, so I know it's true. Just came from a fight on one of our local TV news sites on Facebook. Hilarious. Those libs ought to stand back and listen to themselves. I noticed that when a political argument starts, the same libs and conservatives are always involved, along with the many sometime posters. I'm proud to say, I've been recognized and accepted into the ranks of conservative combatants on several local TV and newspaper sites. Enough of that crap. I just want to say-
When I was much younger, we moved back to Davenport, Iowa for a spell and although it was cold prior to Christmas, we saw no snow until yup........Christmas morning. Great time for a kid and almost a story land kind of day. Our property had a big hill, so I took out my trusty sled, a large piece of cardboard, a had a ball. Now, here in Alabama, it's supposed to get past 70 degrees today. A much more fitting kind of weather for a man my age. Still, if things do change in a dramatic way, I have a large piece of cardboard ready and waiting.
Good Morning and Merry Christmas to All Been up for a spell, enjoying the peace and quiet. Yule log going on the TV, a cup of coffee and my thoughts. Hope everyone has a Glorious Day.
Right back at your @Ike Willis May your days be merry and bright...and may all your Christmas's be white and not filled with rain!
Merry Christmas Morning ALL!! Had a wonderful time skyping with my sister lastnight and opening our gifts from each other on there. Next best thing to being there. I'm happy to say I am happy, not depressed about being alone. I am used to being on my own finally, and although I like to mingle on occasion, everything is very good in my life. I know we have to enjoy those moments while they last, LOL! I really hope you are all doing good today, God bless us, every one! (I watched "The Christmas Carol", again, lastnight)
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all of you wonderful people that I have come to love, and count on for my daily cheer. Without you these last couple of years would have been unbearable. Each of you has a special place in my heart. I put on my favorite Christmas gifts this mornings. Slippers from my daughter, mimion nighty from Bobert, and this beautiful shawl made for me by @Yvonne Smith. Bobert was surprised to recieve the slippers that Yvonne made for him, and was even more surprised that they fit his wide size 13 feet. Thank tou so much my friend.
@Ina I. Wonder Great Christmas pictures! @Yvonne Smith did make you a beautiful shawl and slippers for your grandson.
Oh I especially love the photo of you Ina, so glad you are having a nice Christmas. I also very glad Bobert is with you People seem to show up when we need them most, either coming to our home, calling us on the phone, or just seeing them online can mean so much, and help fight any lonliness or sadness in our hearts. I'm glad we are friend, Denise
Good morning to you all on this sunny cool Boxing Day, the tail end of Christmas, it was 14c when I got home from my daughter Caroline's last night and it's 6c with a clear blue sky this morning at 9:00am, so a bit of a change though the sunshine is welcome. I slept well last night so have hopefully recovered from the time difference and the long journey home. Yesterday went well and my daughter Caroline cooked a lovely dinner to which I added a sort of lamb casserole, though I oven roasted the half leg of lamb first for an hour, before adding it to the slow cooker with onions a tin of tomatoes, button mushrooms fried in garlic butter and spices. The rest of the veg was freshly cooked. The lamb was a real melt in your mouth experience, which together with the look of being roasted made it special. I will post some pics later. The house here is empty here, because my other daughter Cathy who I live with is working a long 14 hour day at the local hospital today, after a late shift yesterday, having recently got back from her trip to Vietnam she is doing remarkably well, her partner Mike is still exhausted and not sleeping at all. Have a great Monday ......
Mornin'. Beautiful downtown riverside city on baconlands east coast got rain yesterday. This morning it's a cloudy and still dark 43 stinking degrees. I didn't ask for freakin' Florida weather. I WANT MY COLD AND SNOW! Excuse me for acting like a liberal. The type size just changed all by itself. This thing seems to have a mind of it's own this morning. So, I have no plans for today that involves anything resembling work. Just gonna kick back and finish the nap I started yesterday.
Good morning - hope you all had a fab Christmas day ! We spent the afternoon in the good company of the great man above - Its a Wonderful Life If I weren't smiling from ear to ear - I was in tears, watching the great performances from everyone in that film In the evening, we had set aside 2 modern films - disaster, switched them both off ! Then watched an old comedy favourite by the name of Arthur Haynes (a Londoner he was) So we went to bed on a happy note
