Sunday, January 22, 2017 was the 44th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. Since then, 60 million babies have been killed. Sixty million mamas have been deceived. My heart breaks for them.

Throughout history abortions have been performed, but before Roe v. Wade most of them were illegal. Because of the Roe v. Wade Decision abortions are now legal and happen every day. And since before abortion was legalized a woman who wanted one had to go to "quacks" often in unsanitary conditions... and along with her baby dying, the mother often died too. Desperate women who did not have the money to visit a "quack" to get an abortion...often tried their hands at self-aborting. Some used coat hangers, or knitting needles to piece their uterus and cause the baby to abort with the result often being death for both them and their baby, or if the mothers lived they might have caused enough damage so that they were never able to have another baby.

The Women's March on Washington the day after Trump's Inauguration was partly about a woman's right to keep choosing what she wants to do with her body...a big part of that choice is whether to choose an abortion if she has an unwanted pregnancy. History has proven that whether abortion is legalized or not, a woman who does not want to have a baby will find a way to get rid of it one way or the other. And even if America chooses to make abortion illegal once again....this will not stop women from getting one.

In my opinion as a Christian though....I have to stand up for the babies that are being murdered by abortion...and not the mothers who decide this is the most convenient way to rid theirselves of an unwanted pregnancy. Now, women know that their babies are alive from the moment of conception...so they know they are killing that baby when they choose to abort him or her. It would seem that this would cause women to rethink the issue of abortion, while some do, the majority go right on having an abortion for every unwanted pregnancy.

I do think we should stop legalizing abortion, I also think we should stop using our taxes to fund these abortions. Abortion, no matter how they try to make it sound different...is still the murder of innocent babies who have no say in whether they live or die.

Throughout history women have aborted their babies whether legal or illegal...I don't see that changing even if we pass a law to make abortions illegal once again, but I know I will sleep better at night knowing America has chosen to affirm that we will not say this is right...and we will not help pay for this either.

I agree with that. I am in favor of abortion for a woman who doesn't want to have a baby. IMO, no woman should have to have a baby she doesn't want or can't afford, properly look after. No baby should have to be born to a mother who doesn't want it, can't afford, look after properly. However, I don't condone abortion as a means of birth control.

If you are a Christian, and you believe that life begins at conception, you believe that the spirit of the unborn child goes to be with God. Isn't that better than living through hell here on earth?

    Couldn't have put it better
It should be legalised to protect the Mother from back street abortionists

While I do believe that the soul of that unborn child goes to be with God, I also believe abortion is murder....and one of God's 10 Commandments is "Thou shalt not murder."

If a woman does not want a baby then she can prevent pregnancy....there are so many ways to do that now days. If she does get pregnant then there are options she has instead of murdering that baby by abortion. There are so many women out there who would do anything to have a baby....and would love to have hers if she doesn't want it.

There is no reason to kill an unborn child...except for self-centeredness.

To a Christian a child is a blessing, not a curse. And a gift from the Lord. Yet even women who say they are Christians are having abortions. I don't believe this happened as much in the past with Christian women...but it is happening now.

History has not changed in the area of abortion for the better in my opinion....although I am quite aware that many women will not agree with me on this.

There are so many reasons why an abortion is necessary, you cannot jump to 'one' conclusion
A lot of ladies are mentally unstable
A lot are in abusive relationships
    Some have been raped
Too many examples, I am not right to judge but be understanding
Counselling should be given before a decision is made as to whether termination is the best for
    all concerned

I really "hate" it when someone throws the "right to judge" card at Christians. Speaking God's Truth is not judging...it's speaking what God has to say about something. And God's Word clearly says "murder" is wrong and abortion is the murder of an innocent baby. That's not judgement...that's just the plain and simple truth.

In my reasoning, not 'all' murder is unjust
If you kill someone in self defence is that murder ?

@Babs Hunt do you think the man who killed all those people in the church in South Carolina should be given the death sentence?

@Patsy Faye I will say it one more time abortion is the murder of innocent babies and there is no way a woman can claim self-defense for abortion. Self-centeredness yes...but not self-defense.

@Shirley Martin if you want to start a thread on that topic I will be glad to give you my opinion on this. But your question has nothing to do with abortion being the murder of innocent babies or my belief that Roe v. Wade should be overturned and that our tax dollars should not be funding the murder of innocent babies and I will not answer that question here.

Oh, but it does, @Babs Hunt . Murder is the taking of a human life. The death sentence is taking a human life. You can't be half in and half out on this one. If you condone the death sentence, you can't condemn abortion.

I know we all have our own opinions here, that's what is so great about @Ken Anderson's Forum and our wisdom and maturity as Seniors. While I can say all of you have the right to your opinions and are free to express it, please understand that as a Christian I don't base my belief on my own opinion but on what God has to say about this in the Bible. Loving babies the way I do....even if God wouldn't have said it is wrong to murder these babies through abortion...I still would never believe it is the right thing for any woman to do to her baby. And I have thought long and hard about this subject. Even if I would have been raped and gotten pregnant I know it is not an innocent babie's fault and I could not end that baby's life through abortion.

It makes me sick inside to think some of our tax dollars have helped pay for this too...not just here in America but our Government has sent our money to other Countries to kill babies too which I knew nothing about until a short time ago. No matter what anyone else thinks I cannot ever agree that abortion is anything but wrong and that there are not other options for an unwanted baby that would not be the murder of the innocent.
