Don't worry, Dave, you're not in the dog house! There were plenty of other goodies on hand! Fresh danish and cheesecake for the Monday crowd!
I was wondering if your coffee shop had any live musicians in the evenings. I guess that answers my question haha. We have a little coffee shop near me called Sola Cafe and they have local musicians come in and play at night….sometimes solos, sometimes bands. It's fun.
Great idea, Lara! No, we haven't had live entertainment, on a regular basis...unless you include our customers! Our new jukebox, has been our entertainment, so far. Currently, our hours are 8 AM to 8 PM...with the key left under the mat, for those with a different schedule. We are closed Wednesdays. At Ina's suggestion, Thursdays have become our Dominos/Game day. Thursday is also Cookie day, courtesy of our resident Baker, Dave Sun. Friday might be a good niche for live entertainment of the kind you mentioned. Or an open invitation for local musicians. You are more than welcome to start things off, any time! What do you think?
I re-read my erred question asking if you have live musicians (instead of live entertainment)…dead musicians wouldn't be very entertaining, ba-da-bum-ching. Cute pic of "you"…he looks like Joe-meets-OliverHardy. Juke box music, live music, you decide…"you da man". All is fun. Now that I'm retired I never know what day it is (especially before coffee) so just rig up a booby trap at the door if I show up on Wednesday.
We can be very flexible, here at our virtual coffee shop! I sorta draw the line, at zombie bands! HAHA! ...speaking of dead musicians...
Joe. I was thinking. (Oh, oh) On Saturdays we might have a marching band. The Imperial Band is available. Nah, scratch that. We wouldn't have enough room unless we used the parking lot.
Smiles and sunshine...It's MONDAY! Thanks for the coffee and…chocolate waffles?? Yum! (either that or someone burned them). And about Carl Sandburg, is that the same one as the famous late poet from North Carolina? I didn't know he sang!
Yes, Lara, they are one in the same! "Writer, editor, lecturer and folk-singer. In the 1920s Carl Sandburg collected his favorite songs and later, in 1938 he made his first recordings of folk songs accompanying himself on the guitar resp. the banjo". Cool jukebox!
painting by Edward Hopper…american artist I saw the key under the mat and heard I was welcome to tip toe in. I'm early. It's only 6:30 am and still dark. Quiet time until 8:00 when the place will start jumpin' Meanwhile, I'm reading some Emily Dickinson poetry: Will there really be a "Morning"? Is there such a thing as "Day"? Could I see it from the mountains If I were as tall as they? Has it feet like Water lilies? Has it feathers like a Bird? Is it brought from famous countries Of which I have never heard? Oh some Scholar! Oh some Sailor! Oh some Wise Men from the skies! Please to tell a little Pilgrim Where the place called "Morning" lies!
