We are into our February thaw this week-end and part of next week..
Normally temperatures should be around the -20c during the day and -30c at night..
This weekend, and next week, we will be seeing +8c to +10c during the day and 0c to +2c at night..
They are even forecasting some rain for mid week..

Last week-end our village was overflowing with folks from all over, enjoying the winter activities, and this week-end, it should be even busier with the warm temps..

Louise.. 70 mark is like our summer...
As far as planting goes, we DON'T plant anything till the first week-end in June as we get frost till then...
That's why our growing season is so short and we plant only fast growing veggies..
Fall frost comes around the first week-end in September, sometimes a bit later but the real heat is gone by then anyway..

I know your winters are long and the summers are short.. i use to live in Maine..
We have long hot summers and short winters here in Tn.. but the soil is not as good here as was up in Maine. so some things we grew well up in Maine does not grow well here..like the cukes. and I love cukes............... Green beans ,sweet taters and tomatoes..are our best growers here..

We have only had two or three days of winter this year. We are supposed to be warm for the rest of this week. Usually, our winter is over by the first of March. Trees are budding. I just hope my cherry tree, blackberries and blueberries don't bloom too soon and get killed by frost.

We have one too Steve,. hubby fills up big milk jugs full of cold spring water.. it comes out of a pump , perfectly safe to drink. He fills up our water jugs and we keep it in the fridge.. I use it to make my coffee with too, other wise we have city water . so I only use the city water to wash dishes with or cook taters, spaghetti or rice..

March 13th I have an appointment with my orthopedic specialist to book an operation to replace my right shoulder..
The ball and socket are bone on bone and there isn't any other solution other than a replacement..
The operation will probably be done within a few weeks after the appointment..
This will be done in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario..

I will keep you posted as time approaches with exact dates...

    Louise..
Actually, it decided it for me by being in pain all the time as well as my not being able to use my right arm as much as I should be able to..
Out of the 3 major replacements, the shoulder is the worst.. The hip seems to be the easiest, the knee is also not that bad because in both cases the weight of your body is pushing down on the joint while the shoulder is opposite.. The weight of the arm and whatever you pick-up is pulling down on the joint..
