We will keep you in our prayers, Babs, and hope the cough gets better soon. Vegetable soup is always a great thing to have when you are feeling under the weather, and drink lots of water to flush the bad stuff out of your body. It is nice here right now; but we are supposed to have strong thunderstorms coming in later this afternoon. They have closed all of the schools here because they think we could get tornadoes along with the storms. I am glad that we seem to be in an area where most of the storms goes either above or below us, and they usually follow the same patterns. That doesn't mean that we can't get hit with a tornado; but even when we had the really bad ones in 2011, this area seemed not to have had much problems. We were living in the northwest part of the Huntsville area, and right in the line where the tornadoes went through, and the devastation was terrible in our area. Even the ambulances and other emergency services could not get through for almost 24 hours, and once they started, they went through all day, rescuing people. Streets were impassable because of trees and power lines across all of the roads, and we had no power for almost 2 weeks. Anyway, we are charging all of the phones and ipads up just in case we lose power again with today's storms. I hope that you seen feel well enough to post again, @Patsy Faye , I always look forward to your comments on the forum.
Raw Pineapple. Try it, you'll like the results. Gets rid of the inflammation in your throat and helps with the coughing or........a slug of 100 proof Southern Comfort (but doesn't go well with antibiotics)
I do have some fresh pineapple @Bobby Cole and I well remember the "hot toddies" with whiskey, honey, and lemon my mom used to make me drink when I was real sick with respiratory problems when I was a lot younger. It really did help.
Good morning...afternoon....evening it's 4pm here and we are about to have dinner, this morning was such a glorious one that we decided to go for a walk, our usual circle of about 3 miles, here are the photos I took with my phone en route... First the toddlers play area 100 yards down the road from Lisa's flat.... Walking along the River Fontanka embankment Mr and Mrs Duck...contemplating a dip.. An antique tram rarely seen... A modern one... The famous "Church On The Spilled Blood" The inside is covered in frescoes and even more spectacular than the exterior.....I have posted it somewhere on here... Souvenir stalls by the church..... Enjoy your day..........
That church is majestic and so awesomely beautiful, @Terry Page ! I like that about things in the side of the world where you live, you have buildings that go back for centuries. Over here, the oldest things that we find are back to about the time of the Revoloutionary War, and there is not much left of that, and out west, not anything even that old. How old is the church and why is it named that ?
This particular church is not as old as it looks @Yvonne Smith ...when I first saw it I thought it was much older... LINK "This church was built on the site where Emperor Alexander II was fatally wounded in March 1881, it was built between 1883 and 1907. The construction was funded by the imperial family"
Thanks for the prayers @Yvonne Smith. Between the albuterol treatments and taking the cough gel capsules (Benzonatate 100mg) the cough is surpressed long enough for me to rest comfortably for a few hours at a time and that is a big help. My Honey won't let me do much of anything either....but I did tell him I am making the pot of soup after he goes to the store and gets what I need for it as it's the only thing I even feel like eating I am still taking the coconut oil but have put it in some regular coffee yesterday and today because coffee often will help open up air passages to when asthma tendencies are a part of a sickness...and with bronchitis and me...asthma is.
Well @Patsy Faye I hope when you feel up to it you will come here...your cheery Good Morning always brightens my day.
For me the worst time for coughing was at night! During the day I coughed less. Oops, @Babs Hunt ...you were posting at the same as I was...this was in reply to your Bronchitis.
Oh yes I remember those toddies . Now days that might be considered child abuse....but it worked for us.
A very good morning to you all, it's 8am here and as usual I am drinking coffee in bed, and ready for another day of looking after Miro,,......... Lisa is working again today. It's gloomy looking out so far but dry.. Enjoy your Thursday
For some reason and I'm hoping it has something to do with the coconut oil I'm putting in my green tea or coffee each morning...this round of bronchitis is being really gentle with me. Except for the first two nights and one day of horrible coughing with the cough capsules, albuterol treatments, antibiotics, and Tylenol for the fever which I always have to do when I have bronchitis...I don't feel half as sick and weak as I usually do with this. And I am thankful for this...although I am still getting plenty of rest and not trying to do everything I know I shouldn't be doing just because I don't feel as bad this time. I didn't get to make my soup yesterday as my Honey did not get off work as early as he thought he would and by the time he got the ingredients I needed it was 3:30pm and by 5pm I was fast asleep! I slept until 2:45am and now that I have finished my tea I'm going to start the broth for my soup. We will definitely be having the chicken vegetable soup today. @Bobby Cole I ate some pineapple last night and it was definitely refreshing on my throat and easy on my digestive system too. And I'm so thankful @Yvonne Smith shared the info about coconut oil because I believe it has helped this round of bronchitis be easier on this old body of mine. Thank you both! Have a blessed and joy filled day everyone! How I would love to be sitting out on the porch of that log cabin this morning...even better would be if that beautiful setting and log cabin was our home.
@Bobby Cole @Yvonne Smith @Babs Hunt Well here it is ...................... And OK - I'll still do the 'odd' post
So glad you are feeling better and able to post at least now and then, @Patsy Faye ! That just added more sunshine and flowers to everyone's day, thank you. We didn't have any storms here yesterday at all, and barely any rain even. But yesterday it was 80 degrees here, and this morning it is only 47 ! ! Brrr !
Early this AM (4AM) it sounded like a war was going on.This is the third time this week in the early AM. Downpours and continuous thunder. It really sounded like anti-aircraft guns and artillery going off. Don't know how some people can sleep thru that kind of noise, but some do. Things have calmed down now, but the wind speed is up there and 10 to 15 degrees cooler for the next couple of days.
