Good morning from a gorgeous sunny day here, we are taking Miro to the local zoo today, Lisa hasn't been for 30 years so no idea what we will find there it was opened in 1865 so quite historical if nothing else. After the zoo Lisa will call in on her mother's friend who is 93 and though she has all her faculties and can read and hold stimulating conversations, she is in a poor state physically. Lisa has been regularly in touch with her, ever since her mother died some 50 years ago. I will take Miro for a walk while she is there........
@Patsy Faye So glad you will pop in and do the odd posts for us...we would really miss you if you didn't. I am enjoying my soup (which is the only thing I have had an appetite for) and I am thankful that this is a mild case of bronchitis for me. Hope everyone else is doing well and I hope you all have great plans for your weekend.
Getting ready for our Star Wars Celebration vacation next weekend. This will be the first Celebration we've been to and we are definitely excited about it. Depending on how large the crowd is and how crowded it is to get around, may end up being "our first and last". But, that's alright. Other than that, there's a possibility we will take our boat out this Sunday. Weather will be good, tide right and, hopefully, low wind.
The afternoon at the zoo was wonderful, much better than we had expected after reading the poor reviews on Tripadvisor,...... some of the areas were being refurbished and not all the animals were there because it's still the winter season, but overall it looked pretty good. Miro loved it and didn't want to leave even after some 3 hours walking around, we will go again before he leaves, it's only a trolley bus ride there, and the admission because we are seniors is remarkably cheap at 70 cents each, instead of the normal price of $7, I also get the reduction even as a foreigner, on production of my passport. I will post some photos probably tomorrow as we are both tired now having not slept so well last night, probably as a result of overdoing the church wine ... Hope you are all having a good day... ................here are a few of Miro enjoying himself.....I will post some more tomorrow...
A little something to get y'all in the mood @Cody Fousnaugh I hope y'all have a wonderful time at this Event!
Good morning from a wet St.Peter today, so we will stay indoors......I slept well and have already been shopping for food and made a spicy pork casserole. I will read some posts on here and sort out some zoo photos to post...........have a great day...........it feels like a Sunday to me somehow.....
Good morning it's a sunny day here and we are off to the circus with Miro today, the circuses still have animals in them here, unlike a lot of UK and European ones, I don't think I have been to a circus for more than 50 years . Have a great relaxing Sunday........
When I was in Nam, the mortar attacks were so frequent that I gave up running to the bunker at night and slept through the attacks. My reasoning was that " whatever happens will happen". I still get my best sleep during thunder storms but if someone fires a weapon or lights a firecracker, the defensive mechanisms in my brain have me going for the door to see what's going on.
Well, with wind gusts between 15 and 20 mph, boat isn't going out today. Besides that, my wife had to take a cold pill when she got up. Last Thursday, two co-workers came to work hacking/coughing. They weren't there on Friday, but wife's boss brought her sick daughter with her so she could get her company laptop to work from home. My wife sure wasn't happy about all of this "sickness" around here!
The sickness is pretty much everywhere right now...so many of us are experiencing a "taste" of it too. I'm just thankful this is one of the mildest cases of bronchitis I've ever had.
