Safe travels home today @Yvonne Smith and Robin.
Morning All Heading in early for work, CMA Music Festival going on downtown. Busy time for us. As usual, some great people visiting our city to enjoy the music. Enjoy the Day...
A late good morning to you all, we are in the country for the weekend, arriving on the early train. It's not very summery at the moment being cloudy and drizzly. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and warm, so looking forward to that. Have a great Friday and weekend....
Good morning everyone! Nice day in the 80's today and tomorrow but looking ahead it's not so good, better get some things done before the heat hits again!!
A lady co-worker, where my wife works, got a surprise on Wednesday morning.........her job was illuminated and she was laid-off. Wife wasn't there when it happened, but the other three employees got an e-mail from HR asking them to please leave the office area for a few minutes. They left and HR came in and gave her the news. She packed up and left. Actually, my wife thinks she done something wrong. Then, yesterday, my wife called me and told me that the company got a threat from a former employee at the Miami office. She, and other employees in the building, were given a code number to get into the building now. My wife is off next week for a vacation, which we both think is really needed.
Good thing thing your wife will be on vacation. Too many disgruntled employees killing themselves and taking out a few innocents in the act! A code number seems like a smart idea...at least nothing will happen in the bldg. Hope this fired person is stable.
Wife just called and said there is a Security Guard now by the main entrance. Thing is, this Guard isn't armed! That's like placing an 80 year old man, unarmed, as a Security Guard in a bank. Today, in certain situations, I think even a Security Guard should be armed.
Agree, unarmed security guard is a waste of money...I also wouldn't want that job knowing what disgruntled employees are capable of.
I wouldn't have a problem pulling a trigger if my life and others depended on it. Well, I say that, but have never been in a situation to really see how I'd feel at the moment.
Good Morning one and all. There may be alot of stressful things going on in America where many of us live, and in many of the places others of us live too. Don't let these things steal your peace and happiness, you can not change what is happening all around you many times, but you can choose how you are going to react to these things. The World is getting crazier by the day, but we don't have to join in the insanity too. Life is what you choose to make it regardless of what is going on around you. Have a blessed and peaceful weekend everyone.
Very true, your statement under the picture, but when there is so much crud going on in/around the city a person lives in, it's hard not to think about it. Surprisingly, some Poll ranked our city #2 Best City to move to. Austin, TX came in first. Since we've been living here (Jan 2009) we've definitely seen a population increase, but also a definite increase in crime also. "#2 Best City to move to".........we both laughed about that.
It is alright to think about the things that are going on around you and in the World @Cody Fousnaugh....just don't let these things consume your thoughts or you will end up being miserable all the time. As I said above you can't choose what happens but you can choose your reaction to it. And you can make a choice not to let it consume you.
