Very nice @Tim Burr. Bring some more of that to us. I'm still building my education, and it is very much so lacking music from afar. :) :D

@Ina I. Wonder Thank you. As you can tell from my other posts, I enjoy all types of music.
I was very lucky to have traveled to many countries and I made an attempt to listen to the music of their cultures.

Lately, my taste runs to Classical, Jazz and music like Solas, FAUN, etc.
I really enjoy the history behind the music.

I'll throw some others out there from time to time.

@Tim Burr what is that instrument? o_O I've never seen one before. It almost looks an auto harp crossed with a guitar, crossed with what my father called a squeeze box. I forget the correct name for that last instrument. It will probably dawn on me at 3:am.

It's what's considered a Hurdy Gurdy, which became popular in the 18th century.

She's playing a newer version, but the idea is the same.
You crank the device over strings.

The squeeze box is more of a Concertinas type instrument.
No matter what they are, there're meant to get you up on your feet and dancing!:)

I have learned more about music from this thread than I did just growing up around it in my youth. Thank you @Holly Saunders ,@Gary Ridenour , and @Tim Burr . It has been a fine way to learn, and thank you for not just ignoring my ignorance.

that instrument goes back to the 12 or 13th century. quite a history. first time I ever saw it was in a movie called Captains Courageous (1937). Spencer Tracy played it. I thought what a strange looking and sounding instrument

Although I admit I'd be apt to buy a wooden one for an instrument.

Had watched this before. In fact, the maker of my wooden flute had one of these new carbon fiber penny whistles.
