So glad you mentioned this one! I LOVED this movie, and have always loved Jeff Bridges ever since. Watched it again in the past year and liked it more than ever, everyone still so young and cute. His whole duet with his co-star, one of the extras on the DVD, was just adorable, too.
I will usually stop and watch any 'Epic' movie that happens to come on. 'Spartacus', 'Ten Commandments', 'Ben-Hur', and of course 'Lawrence of Arabia'. I really like these movies when they play the Intermission Music, gives me the feel of watching it as it was intended.
Here is another old movie that I have always loved, and never get tired of watching. It is called "Broken Arrow" and stars Jimmy Stewart and Jeff Chandler, two of my favorite actors, and Debra Padget as the Indian maiden that Stewart's character is in love with. Jeff Chandler is Cochise, as he was in several of the movies of that era. And of course, that James Stewart also rides a beautiful Appaloosa in this movie does not hurt either.
Interstellar Contact Somewhere In Time Bridges of Madison County Lost In Translation Melancholia Pan's Labyrinth......and many more.
Has anybody seen Blaze ..I loved that as well ..and have watched it 3-4 times http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096943/
No I missed that one @Kate Ellery I will look out for it ..... it brings to mind the excellent "Ides Of March" which has a similar theme....
I like foreign and independent films the best so I can never remember their titles. Usually I can only watch a movie once though. I liked the trilogy that Julie Delphy was in but all I can remember is that they all started with "Before". Sunrise??
Gee, I've never seen most of the movies you folks have listed as favorites. Some I've never heard of before. I need to get out more. A lot more. With that caveat, here's my short list: Vertigo Rear Window Casablanca Key Largo There may be others, but we're in the middle of a solar eclipse, so......
