This morning I got up early because Chipper was squeaking at me that he wanted out. Bobby and I had coffee together, and then I made green tomatoes with squash and poached egg for breakfast. After eating breakfast, I got very sleepy and went to lie down for a while I soon fell deep asleep and started having a dream, and in my dream I discovered that I could levitate. I was lying on something in my dream, maybe a bed although I am not sure about that part; but then I started drifting upward with my arms outstretched, and in a horizontal position. It was like you see in the magician movies where the magician makes the subject levitate up off of the bench, and then I just sort of drifted along. I have had flying dreams before and this was different because I was not actually flying, more just lying there with my arms outstretched and drifting around the room, and I could drift up and back down as I pleased. It was a strange dream, but an enjoyable one. Blame it on the fried green tomatoes.......
You may have had a semi-lucid dream. levitation is common in fully lucid dreams and early morning when you are refreshed is the best time for lucid dreaming. I often levitate in Lucid dreams but in my case it is usually a conscious act. i once flew on a " magic carpet ", - that was an experience.
My flying dream on the magic carpet was a conscious dream. i flew around the globe until the dream changed.in Lucid dreams it requires a lot of vigilance to maintain the same dream environment. For that reason beginners to Lucid dreaming tend to have very brief experiences.
