Well, what is being shown, going straight thru, from bottom to top of Florida, is not known as of yet. We've encountered a lot of rain and wind here, from some pretty feisty t-storms, but the apt complexes and condo's around us have stayed together. Some trees knocked down on the streets, but no property destruction. Perhaps Irma will be the one that will change that, but, as said before, nobody, and we really mean "nobody" in our area is concerned about it right now. Don't ask why. We don't even know. We have no plans of evacuation, unless, of course, it's mandatory.

It's still a "wait and see" thing for everyone in middle and northern Florida.

You stay safe too @Cody Fousnaugh. I'd prepare if I were you though, just in case you have to evacuate....get a bag together of important things.

Of course nothing is as important as your life but if you have the time, that's what I'd do.

Yes but if you see the track when it gets near the DR it takes it back to a 4. The DR eats hurricanes

Yep. That's what the Weather Channel stated this morning, BUT as already stated, "will have to wait and see what happens".

Wind speeds up to 180mph and pressure at 927mb.
    Info from weathernerds.org and tropicaltidbits.com
Both these sites and others are running very slow, due to heavy traffic.
This is sort of like politics, with one side preferring the GFS models and the other preferring the Euromodels. And it is all about which side of Florida it crushes.

And, just think, tons of people think that the Gulf Coast, Florida and the East Coast are premier places to live.

It looks like it has gotten past the "wait and see" mode in Florida now. I have heard from several sources that the stores are already out of any kind of water, and that is not just in Miami; but all the way through the state.
It can't hurt to at least fill up the gas tank while there are no long lines, in case you do need to evacuate, and also to stash away some food and water.
Better to have extra and not need it than to need it and not be able to get any.

Just to live everyone here know, we (wife and I) are not in an Evacuation Zone where we live. We actually found this out last year when we looked at the local Evacuation Zones. Why are we not part of one? We don't flood where we live. No doubt we can get wind, but no flooding, like some parts of Jacksonville, Florida.

I talked to my barber this AM and he's just stocking up on water and has his generator ready. He's concerned, but not that much.

We will get something Sunday night into Monday, if the "cone of concern" does come out way.

Currently, south and central Florida are really a "worry" for those folks. Like, "what will happen to the Disney World parks"? question.

Never thought of Disney...has it ever been hit by a hurricane?

Wonder if my sister has her condo rented out now...is West Palm Beach in a safe area? I haven't talked to her in a couple days.

@Cody Fousnaugh ...even though you don't flood, you could lose power so I'd be prepared like @Yvonne has suggested...water etc
