@Cody Fousnaugh My wife has taken to doing the "digital shopping" route, which then prints out a sheet with her choices confirming the special prices, which often are below advertised sales prices. Always some new gimmick! Often there is an item free: those are often nowhere to be found in the store! Frank
Kroger has their "free Friday download" which can be found only on Fridays on their website. Once you download it to the Kroger card, then you have about 2 weeks to actually get the item; but you can only download it on a friday. I really like that Kroger has the loyalty card and that i can just go through their coupon list and check the ones I am interested in, and it is automatically loaded onto the card for when I go shopping. They also have a shopping list; so when I load a coupon onto my card, I can also add it to the shopping list, which also usually says which aisle of the store it can be found in. When I am at the store, I can use my iPhone to see my shopping list and coupons, so I can tell what sale items I want to get. I usually try to wait until I see that item on sale in the store, and then I get the sale price plus the coupon discount.
@Yvonne Smith Exactly the one my wife uses, here it's known as Smiths, Kroger-owned. She also uses Safeway extensively. Frank
I am pretty sure that makes most of us seniors absolute geniuses ........... of course, we knew that already. We just didn't remember it.
