Does anyone still carry a pocket knife. I know for some good while the airlines discouraged knives and nail clippers and all sorts of silly things. I have always carried a pocket knife. I used them. I trimmed my nails, hands and toes. I cut ravels and long threads from my clothes, I used my knife at work, I didn't feel dressed with out my pocket knife. I suspect few of us feel that way today. I had a small collection of knives, mostly pocket knives. I gave my brother what he wanted of them. He was younger. I sold eight or ten. I gave one grand son a knife for his tool kit. My son or two other grandsons didn't want one. I have four or five pocket knives in a desk drawer and one here on a table next to my chair. I now carry a knife selectively, depending on where I'm going and what I think I might be doing. I wonder does anyone else carry a pocket knife?

I was taught, by my Dad, to carry a small folding knife.
Like you mentioned, didn't feel dress without one.
    Same with a handkerchief.

I don't carry one anymore in my pocket, but will clip on one when I get to work.

I still carry a handkerchief every time I leave the house.
Numberous times it's come in handy and I mostly carry colored ones now.

I carried a handkerchief until I retired. Carried a hanky when I dressed up. After retirement, I fold paper towels and stick in. my pocket.

That appears to be an image, long hair, prominate nose. If I'm right that interesting; if I'm wrong I need glasses.

My husband always has a pocket knife in his pocket because he always has need of one for something he is doing out in the yard or at work. Not to long along one of the food suppliers at the store my husband works at brought my husband the pocket knife shown below. He came home and was so happy about this you would have though he won the lottery! :D

And why not? Remington is an institution in the arms industry and they make some fine knives. Remington produces and sells sporting goods products for the hunting and shooting sports markets, as well as military, government and law enforcement markets. Founded in 1816 in upstate New York, the company is one of the nation's oldest continuously operating manufacturers. Well known in the gun industry, Remington also produces high quality and high value pocket knives and fixed blades.

Yes, I think I remember Remington rifles but I really didn't know why my husband would be so excited about "another" pocket knife since he already had a couple. Your explanation has helped me see it is more the history behind that pocket knife and I can appreciate that. So thanks @Bill Boggs for the history lesson. :)

I always carried a Case pocket knife in my jeans until I joined the Navy at 17. Four years later I was married and living in a big city. Didn't seem necessary or appropriate to carry one then so it lived in my drawer.
