Not sure it would help you Holly, as its the 'infection' I'm hopeful about, all other issues are the same I did see an article recently on Arthritis and a remedy known as Boron, I'd never heard of it but sounded so good I ordered the capsules to try, if we could tick that issue off the list, hoorah !! I'll let you know - here ............
@Patsy Faye I’m glad you infection is clearing, and you’re right that some condition just have to be lived with. Let us know about the Boron. I hope the cost is acceptable even if it helps just a little bit. Arthritis is so debilitating, and for me it’s the effect on my nervous system that drives me nuts. I don’t know from day to day if I’ll be able to control my arms or legs. In the last year, if I’m not on this forum, and it’s not a hurricane, it’s generally arthritis. I don’t know how your arthritis is affecting you, but do you have access to someone that can give you a good massage, or even just a good rub down? Although the relief is short lived, it’s still a godsend. I’ve been saving for over a year now, to be able to get one of the really deep massage chairs. My doctor’s physical therapy clinic has five of them, and I use one after each session. I told the doctor my plan to save the 3 to 4 thousand so I can buy such a chair, he said to hold off till after the new year, and then he’ll help me get one for less than $800 when he orders two new one to replace those that are wearing out. So don’t despair, just keep searching untill you find whatever will help relieve some of your pain. I can’t tell you it can be cured, because I don’t know of anyone that has totally eradicated their arthritis, but you can certainly help it. (((HUGS)))
@Ina I. Wonder - I use that gel I told you about, may be a year ago now, its very good but everything you do for pain relief does not last very long The Boron may be the answer we are looking for - hold onto yer horses !
@Ina I. Wonder - the cost is very good, 100 capsules at one a day = £8.00, around 5 dollars ....... ?
I already take Organic Turmeric Golden Paste...which works fairly well..but I've ordered the Boron Vegetable capsules..(in the hope it might help )... Only lunchtime here now so not much to report ...but so far.. Peak : the sun is shining and I can feel the heat through the window..hubs is away in France working, so I get to just chill and leave the housework for a day or 2 and catch up with some recorded tv programmes Pit : Usual Pains..
Peak: Laundry done, except for bed linens that I'll do today. Getting warmer outside, so I can put up some outside Christmas décor today and tomorrow. Have one more Christmas here..........we hope and pray. Pit: Boat wasn't done correctly by new mechanic. We asked for full Winterization and only got part of it. Basically, we only trust one long-time mechanic, who has worked on our boat a number of times. Oh well, it will be done this AM.
I am really happy today ! For the last several months, my friend Evelyn (@Joyce Mcgregor ) has been having trouble with her old laptop dying, and then her son brought her up an older computer they had, and now it has died as well. Her landlord works on computers, but the old laptop was beyond fixing, and he does not have the part (net card) that Bobby thinks is what her desktop needs. It won’t connect to the internet anymore, and the Comcast guys couldn’t fix it either. I have been knowing that what she really needs is an iPad; and have been looking on eBay; but even most of the really old versions are almost $100, which is beyond affordable for either Evelyn or myself at this point. Anyway, I have just kept watching and bidding on anything that worked, and yesterday I got her a first generation iPad for only about $25 plus shipping. I still have an external keyboard that will fit it, and the iPad should be here by the end of this week and we can get it set up for her. I sent her a Youtube video for the Apple Event from when the iPad was first introduced, and even now, it is pretty impressive, and probably the last one that was actually introduced by Steve Jobs before he passed away. Once we get this set up with her Apple account, it should connect with the iPhone that Robin gave her, and I am sure that she is going to love how small and portable it is compared to the laptop. Even though it is an older model,and can’t run the newer versions of iOS, it will still do the important basic things, and should be perfect for getting Evelyn used to using an iPad.
I'd wondered where Joyce had gone, @Yvonne Smith , but I just presumed that she'd moved on as many do...but that is wonderful news that you've managed to get her a replacement ipad...something at least for her to get back online, she must be very fed up being offline by now.. Bobby was given a big helping hand up from somewhere here on this forum...and now you have passed that same help on.... I love that... it's my mantra ''pass the kindness on''!!
The landlord had her old laptop for about the last 3 months, @Holly Saunders , and she kept thinking that he would be able to fix it for her . The screen had totally stopped working, and apparently, it was just not fixable. Then, her son came over the first part of November and brought the desktop; but it only worked intermittently, too, and now it just will not connect to wifi at all. She can use the iphone, but that is pretty small to do anything hat requires much typing; so she mostly just checks Facebook, and makes phone calls with the phone. Since Evelyn has never used an iPad before, and is just now getting familiar with using the touchscreen phone, I think that this will work great for her, and maybe after Christmas when people are selling the old ones because they got an upgrade for the holidays, I can find her a better deal.
Peak....I'm home and all is well with the house. Pit....was making good time even through some dense fog but got detoured close to home and had to backtrack...lost about 20 mins....made me angry, they should have had signs saying to take exit 12 instead of exit 9 since half way down ave 9 it was blocked off and you had to go back to ave 12.
Peak: Wife's doctor's appointment went fine. I was there with her when she seen him, as I am each time she goes. He was glad that she got her Senior Flu Shot and Shingles Shot. Pit: Last night was absolutely terrible traffic, due to at least one accident on freeway that closed down two lanes during peak traffic time of 5PM. Took wife a little over an hour to get home, when it generally takes her 15 minutes. We had to go to Walmart and that took us at least an hour to drive three miles. Boy, sure will be glad to move to a much, much lower population of vehicles. For me, some mornings, more arthritis pain than other mornings. This morning is the "more" situation, especially in my right hip area where I had a hip replacement done in Oct. 2005. Topricin Pain Relief Cream is helping, but not quite enough. Towards noon, will take an ibuprofen.
A tad off topic but since you asked me why I used "y'all" yesterday, I'll ask you why you always use "seen" instead of "saw"?
Sorry to hear you're in Pain @Cody Fousnaugh , it's no fun is it? Pit for me... As above...lots of pain today, now Pain meds are making me feel nauseous,made an appointment to have surgery done on Monday morning..but they have promised to call if they have a cancellation on friday .. Washed the kitchen floor on my hands and knees and my back went into spasm and I struggled for ages to get myself up ..I wasn't close to anything to grab hold of... I'll be using a Mop in future.. Peak:.. Managed to get quite a lot of chores done at once today for a change. Usually have to do just one or 2 things at a time ...but I got the floors vacc'd up and down..all the washing done and dried and put away... all the dusting done.. cleaned the bathrooms.. and washed the floors on my hands and knees. .(see pit) Hubs is due home from France today where he's been on business for the last few days
