Since it was my gumbo yesterday, today it will be chili, cole slaw, and corn bread. The next few days we will be having temperatures near freezing so I will be making "stick to your ribs" hearty stews, and soups, etc...really good meals for days like this.

Because my husband has a craving for this today we are having hot dogs with my homemade chili, and oven fries.
Oven baked breaded catfish fillets, oven fries, and cole slaw. Maybe some cornbread with it too. That's what we are having today.
I'm planning to bring this dish to an upcoming Christmas potluck but haven't decided on a recipe as yet. It has excellent reviews so far so I think it will be my choice. Thanks for posting @Sheldon Scott !!
Fried chicken, oven fries, and peas for my Honey. No peas for me...as I can't stand peas! And I will have the roasted chicken instead of fried.
I hate peas as well @Babs Hunt ..my o/h loves them *ugh* Last night I made a big pot of Soup..Gammon, Lentils, carrots, potatoes, and Cabbage .. so I had a bowl of that last night, and Pureed it ... it's my favourite soup ..I usually eat it in it's chunky state but I've got trouble eating at the moment...so it's easier to blend it..., then tonight I had the rest of it with garlic and corriander poppadoms Here's the before and after pics.. Chunky ...it's not a little bit of soup it's just a Huge Bowl... ...and afterwards in a normal size soup bowl.. I took the photo too close with my phone, so then the ground pepper looked like grit lol
We've got pea haters! My wife and I both like peas. Purple Hull, Crowder, Blackeye and the green ones known as English or Sweet Peas. They're all good.
I only hate Sweet Peas @Sheldon Scott. Even the smell of them makes me nauseaous. But I do love my Honey and I will hold my nose and make them for him when he wants them.
I'm the same as you @Babs Hunt , I only hate English Green sweet peas.... and like you I can't even bare the smell of them , but my husband loves them so I have to hold my breath when I'm serving them up.. *ugh*.... That said I love Mange tout,,, which is odd isn't it? ...I eat them raw...
They are little tender sugar snap peas in pods @Babs Hunt .. but for some reason they don't taste or smell like sweet peas... even tho' they look like them
I'm thinking about cooking hamburgers steaks with gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, and corn today. But it's still early so I may change my mind.
Nice ..I'll have it all without the hamburgers... I love mashed potatoes and gravy but I rarely have them
