Good morning all... It's snowing here this morning... so we won't be going anywhere today... @Patsy Faye , I've heard again from Terry, he's fine, he's having a great time... they've been and seen so many places already . , but I won't steal his thunder and tell you, I'll leave him to do that when he gets the time to come here.. if it was me I'd be on my back trying to recover lol... Have a good day everybody...
Wanted to put this in a thread that people look at, not the other one. Met a couple last night, at a local sports bar, that the wife, who is around 50, 20 years younger than my wife, has her own handgun and shoots. She showed us a picture of herself holding her pink (yes, pink) .38 at an inside range. She agreed with us about how low the number of females here own and shoot firearms. She said "there are some, but not nearly as many as should be and most are young girls in their 20's and 30's." She was somewhat surprised that a woman my wife's age/70, would be shooting. She liked our local NFL team, but admitted she basically knows nothing about football. BTW, the picture of her pink .38 handgun definitely went with her "feminist" side (looks). She was more dressed for a dinner at a fine restaurant, rather than at a Sports Bar. Anyway, being that there hasn't been a market for pink or light blue handguns, until ladies wanted the more female colors. Nothing wrong with pink or light blue, but a number of years ago, there were no such colors for handguns.
Can definitely tell the difference between the "girly girls" and the women, like my wife, who like just a plain black or black/silver firearm. She's isn't that much a "girly girl". I just asked my wife "are you a "girly girl" and she smiled and said, "no way". That's fine with me. She also said to me, "watch what you say, you're gonna pi** these ladies off". I told her "naw, they will understand the difference". Then again, depends on how sensitive and/or sense of humor they have.
Good morning. It's going to reach 74 degrees today...hurrah! Wish it would stay that way and Winter would go vacation away from the South. I'm feeling better today so thanks for those who sent prayers and feel better thoughts my way. Looking forward to picking up our Chili's orders at 11:30 a.m. and later this afternoon watching the NFL games. It will be nice to know who is finally playing in the Super Bowl. Yesterday was the first day in quite awhile that we could actually leave our thermostat on 68 degrees and today will work for that too. I bet @Terry Page and Lisa are warm and enjoying Mexico. For today we will be warm too and for that I am thankful. Enjoy your day everyone.
We have Patriot fans here (not necessarily me) saying that it won't be the Jags. I say, good luck to both teams.
@Babs Hunt Agree about the games today. I'm finally over the embarrassing loss by my Titans, but at least I got my wish and we finally have a new Head coach. It is fun sometimes to watch games where your team isn't playing. I'll cheer players who played at Nebraska on any pro team. If I could pick the teams I'd like to see in the Super Bowl, it would be the Jaguars and the Vikings. No matter what happens, the Wife and I will watch all the games.
