Some people might consider themselves to be a child of the 60s, as I do. Although I lived through all but the first year of the 50s, I identify more with the 60s. I was too young to identify with the beatniks and didn't much care for Elvis Presley. Although I was aware of the Civil Rights Movement and some aspects of the Cold War, these didn't enter strongly into my mind at the age of nine. I do remember some concerns about being destroyed by an atomic bomb, but I was most conscious of the things around me, outside of my own family and my own hometown, in the 1960s, so if I had to choose a decade, I would say that I was a child of the 1960s.

I still prefer the music of the 1960s to that which came before or after and, although I wasn't able to do so for most of my working life, I have always preferred to have my hair long. Although it is legal for me to so in Maine, I have not taken up smoking marijuana, but then I didn't much like that in the 1960s.

Which decade do you identify with?

I know this isn't what you asked for, but I was basically good with them all until the late 80s.
I'm a big music lover, and loved it all till then.
Then it went for a big dump! :)

60s for me too ... I still remember going to my first dance and doin' the Twist , I wore a 'daring' mini cha cha skirt ( just above knee length ) ... glory days indeed ... had John Lennon posters stuck on bedroom wall and used to listen to the pirate station Radio Luxemburg while I was in the bath lol!.'
We had no digital stuff and didn't even have a tv until 1958, it was a black and white rental and I used to watch Top of the Pops each Friday night , then Wagon Train /Bonanza etc ...
I don't recall anything about politics apart from Kennedy ... we had Mods and Rocker gangs, and Hippies of course, I loved the hippie style.... still do!

The 1950s was the best decade ever. The 1940s were a good start but the 1950s had the best music.

The 70's was my decade. It was when I left school...started work for the first time... got married , had my daughter.. ..it all happened in that decade, and the 70's music is what i remember the most fondly from the dico's and dance halls I used to go to when I was a teen

60's for me. I married and had my kids in the 70's but I didn't listen to the radio as much as I did in my high school years...busy being a mom. Although I still consider and know all the songs from the 70's it's probably because I listened to them while driving.

I was never a hippie or a pot smoker...I did have white go go boots and mini skirts. My friends and I weren't the free love crowd either....no LSD etc.

Dunno. Music wise, as a kid in New Orleans, I was a throwback to the speak-easy era through to the early 50's. I wore duck wings (greaser hair style) and used a ton of Brylcream because a little dab didn't do me.
So, as an outside marker I would say the 50's. The cars were cool and jazz and do-wop was even cooler.

That said, I did have a huge appreciation for the mini-skirt and plunging necklines of the middle 60's.

Later 60's and high school dances that I went to. All of the 70's and some of the 80's, due to the music and tapping away, or should I say "beating" at a Ludwig drum set. I remember the Cuban Crisis.......that scared the heck out of me. Was never a hippy or had long hair or anything like that.

My wife does have a pair of white Go-Go boots that she wore with her Princess Leia dress costume (from the first movie, Star Wars - A New Hope.

Yeah, I remember those days when the girls suddenly started showing some progress and the boys (including myself) noticed it all too well. Nowadays, the majority of girls that the guys hang around do not seem to "blossom" as flowers but look more like weeds and guys are not any better.

Not the young guys and girls that I've seen in church. But, other places, I will totally agree.

I liked them all..60-90's. Things started getting weird after the 90's.
But I did most of my sins and growing in the 70's. :D

Even the Bible tells us that we will "sin for a season" but I think my season went on a longer than it should have...........................
