First the water heater leak ruined the floor. We got that fixed better than it was before. This started about a week before christmas I haven't got the bill yet but I called yesterday and the total comes to 8,953.00. The good news is insurance will pay most or maybe all of the cost.

Next my wife's explorer battery keeps discharging. This has been going on a long time. I finally bought a new battery but it didn't help. Have an appointment at the shop Monday to see if they can find what's draining the battery.

And just two days ago our dishwasher quit. The flashing light, according to the manual, means call a repairman. I called and he will be coming Tuesday.

Also I need to buy a new tire for the lawnmower.

    It's one thing after another

acccch I was going to say you'd got your '3 thing' Sheldon.... 'till you mentioned the lawnmower..... still maybe you have now if you discount the cost of the water heater ... let's hope it's the last of it.

Oh yeah, I forgot to add the cost of the water heater. That was $700. Insurance doesn't pay for that.

Guess that's the price in CA. I haven't gotten a quote below $1,500...think that was from Home Depot.

Shoulda gone tankless but, did they place an overflow pan and drain underneath the W.Heater? That's supposed to be in the bargain in the category of prevention. Same as the pressure relief valve and drain..........................

@Chrissy Cross that cost for a water heater replacement in California
is within the national average cost.

Added factors for California are expansion tanks and securing
the tank due to earthquake codes.

When I lived in In California, the cost of maintaining your contractors
license was the highest I've seen, so that cost is passed on.

There's always a cheaper route, but I'd stick with a licensed company.
    Just MHO.

As already said, hope that's end of all that.
Here's to the rest of the year being non-eventful.
