Good evening all I am still settling here and sorting out what we are doing for the next few weeks, we had Blinis for lunch yesterday, Lisa had caviar in hers (I don't like it) and I had cheese, with tomatoes. The Maslenitsa celebrations are tomorrow, we had the wrong day ............. so we will go in the afternoon. I hope you are all having a good weekend, here are a few watercolours..... Happy Birthday to Pickles
Good Morning all.... Another sunny morning, not quite as blue as yesterday..but now the forecasters have moved the goalposts and say the bad weather won't be here until tomorrow, so we have another day of respite..yeaaah... Yesterday we were out most of the day.. went to the garden centre to look for some new plants for the garden, but came away without anything..then we went to the golf course and had lunch at the pub adjoining the course and decided afterwards just to hit a bucket of balls up on the course for some exercise for my shoulder @Babs Hunt , we're fortunate here, living on an Island, even though we live in the countryside we're only 40 minutes from the nearest beach... so we can pretty much go when we please when the weathers' nice.. I love the beach!! Hope you all have a lovely Sunday ...I've just had unsmoked back bacon, eggs and fried bread for Sunday brunch....deeelicious.....
Happy Sunday. Today Nascar's Daytona 500 will start the racing season. I know most of you aren't into this and with all the rule changes that have been put into effect...we're not sure we will be watching Nascar racing much anymore either. Plus all the race car drivers who were are favorites have or are retiring so today's race with tell us whether this season is over in our life or not. Yesterday was my first grandchild's 20th Birthday. It seems like yesterday when I held her in my arms as a newborn and marveled that God had blessed all of us with such a precious gift. She was a sweet baby and she's an even sweeter young woman who we all are very proud of and I love watching her grow into everything she is meant to be. It's a good Sunday...and I hope it is for all of you too.
My first grandchild will be 19 in April....Time sure flies doesn't it @Babs Hunt It seems like only yesterday he was a baby....I was much younger also, lol. Also my first grandchild shares the same bday month with me....April.
Yes, we both were much younger and my first grandchild shares the same Birthday month as me too. Another thing we have in common Chrissy. Here we are sharing our Birthday together a couple of years ago.
My daughter shares the same birthday month as me, only 4 days apart..my mother also, and I was born on my father's 29th birthday...
Good afternoon, Lisa and I spent a lovely time at the Maslenitsa celebrations here yesterday, it was the first time I had been and it was much larger than I imagined, there were various events taking place over a large park on the outskirts of the city. It's still very much a pagan celebration and ends with a bonfire on the last day, it was gently snowing all day which added to the atmosphere. On Sunday a straw effigy symbolizing winter is burnt away and warmer better times are coming back. I will post some photos and videos I took on my Russian thread, here a couple.... Have a good week...
