Good morning. I woke up at eight, but I had two cats snuggled up to me. That felt good, and it was clear that they weren't in the mood for getting up, so I stayed in bed listening the the Bible on audio (which had been playing all night), fell asleep, and woke up at 10:15. That's one nice thing about being mostly retired.
Evening folks, it's 7:30 pm here and it's been another gloriously sunny day, Lisa has been working so I have spent most of it reading and cooking a roast chicken dinner. It's "International Women's Day" tomorrow", which is a holiday here, so we will go out for a walk and get some lunch somewhere. I hope you are all having a good Wednesday.....
I belong to several facebook groups that have great information and pictures, and i love checking with them each day, even when I do not have anything to share myself. The country groups that I belong to are the Idaho ones, because that is where I grew up and lived many years; but I am sure that there would also be some great ones for Wyoming, Colorado, and any other place you want to visit virtually online. I usually spend more time reading in my facebook groups than I do in the regular part of facebook, visiting with friends and family. You can find groups for virtually anything that you are interested in, and when you join a group, then facebook automatically shows you other similar groups in case you might want to join those, too. As an example, I joined a group for hydroponics, and now whenever I look at that group, I see information for other hydroponics groups. So, if you were to look for groups about boating or rodeo, then you would also be able to find even more groups that you liked.
A very good morning to all women members on this your special day I am going out with Lisa now to a walk and some lunch, it's yet another gorgeous sunny day, and a little warmer at -5c ..... enjoy your day back later......
Good Morning all... It's a mix of Sun, rain and wind today, and pretty cold... . We're forecast for another big snow storm, this time named ''The Pest from the West''..supposedly from this weekend. Have a good day folks..
Women's day? Okay, happy Women's Day and a top-o-the-mornin' for the lassies also!! Okay, now I get why my front page was filled with stuff promoting the female gender. Microsoft is asking people to donate money to women and girls charities, an article on my front page is centered around women who changed the world, and even McDonald's is getting into the act. Apparently the mecca for the hamburger lover in California is turning their logo upside down so instead of an M it will be a W. (WcDonald's) I think it is supposed to make people more aware that women do indeed exist and plan to stick around for a while. There must have been some question about it but now, I am definitely aware of the more profound personages of women just because of that one move by a hamburger joint. My question: Is turning the sign upside down supposed to be the W for Women or is it symbolic of two very ostentatious breasts? It must be the later because as an M, I never thought about it being the M in Men. And further, if indeed it is the symbolic thing, it obviously does not represent some of the wonderful ladies who are lesser endowed.
Good morning all, it's 8:30am here and cloudy at the moment, we are at the start of yet another weekend, we seem to be having more than one a week these days ... Yesterday was a full day in the end, we spent most of it walking, plus a couple of hours in a Georgian restaurant we have never been to before. Because "Women's Day" here has always been a big event, and this year it's close to the weekend, the government have extended the national holiday to include today, making a long weekend for workers. It's interesting that there are no feminist/women's groups here, because as Lisa said the communists gave men and women equal rights as part of their mandate, one of the very few positive things about the regime, equal pay has always been a given here. The restaurants were all fully booked and a lot gave a free glass of wine to women diners, even the traffic wardens were handing out flowers to women on the streets. Here are a few photos I took, lots of people still walking on the rivers and canals, plus a few motorcyclists and cyclists on them as well..... the temperatures are set to rise over the next week, so the ice will become to thin to walk on soon. Enjoy your weekend ........ The restaurant
you've always got interesting stories to tell, and lovely pics to show @Terry Page Good Morning folkies all... Here we are another Friday..and less than a year ago I would be glad it's near the end of the week for me, but it matters not anymore since i took retirement.. can't believe it's almost 8 months..time has gone faster now than when I was employed.. Anyway.another cold, and dull day.. My day was brightened by getting a new travel pill dispenser..( ooh jeez who would ever have thought of saying that)? but hey, I search for my thrills where I find them now, ....anyway it's a nice little fake tapestry wallet thing from Amazon..in case anyone wants to have a look.. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06XDKMGGK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Have a lovely day whatever you may be up to today..
I hope it is going to be a better day than it started but for what it is worth, Good Morning. Imagine if you will waking up and turning on the computer just to find out that you were in error the day before. Me? Wrong? Alas, I have been found remiss and do humbly ask for the forgiveness of all of the ladies here. Yesterday..........was NOT Women's Day. It was simply a day for preparation in order to be ready for Women's Day. Now readied, we gentlemen are supposed to hail the ladies all over the world and wish them a much deserved day of uh........dunno. What, pray tell, are gentlemen supposed to do on such a prestigious day? I already wished Yvonne a happy women's day yesterday but what to do now? As Charlie Brown would utter....AARG! Perhaps the whole solution to the matter would be to have listened and heeded the wise old sage, Captain Kangaroo who said each and every day, "remember to say Please and Thank You and EVERYDAY is Mother's Day". BBBut..that leaves out the women who are not mothers.............AARG........................!!! I can't even remember our anniversary much less........................
