It's just passed midnight so I guess this counts as morning. I'm lying in bed wide awake. Sleep eluding me ATM. So I thought I'd have a look to see what's going on in here.
Good morning to you all I am up and about after a reasonable nights sleep, it's been snowing again as usual and Lisa has gone to work for a long day until 5 pm, I have a few jobs to do around the apartment, a bit of touching up of the paintwork in the bathroom after a small water leak from above, and make a dinner of some sort........ I have just checked in on my flight back to the UK tomorrow evening, I will be sad to leave here, but it will be good to reconnect with my family again.......... I am back in Russia again at the end of April till June Enjoy your brand new week......
Good morning! After all the rain we had last week, this week will be gorgeous. In the 80's by Easter. Ive been walking every day, except when it was raining. I'm heading for my daughter's for Easter on Thursday. They're in Palm Springs this week for Spring break and won't be back until Friday but I have an early morning hair appt on Friday there so have to leave Thursday. Hope everyone has a great week!
My wife's doctor told us this morning that him and his wife were going to the Bahamas and also taking a trip to Europe (two countries) this summer. All I can say is........must be nice to be a doctor!
Yep! My kids took a European cruise last summer. But...you don't have to be a dr or dentist to afford a European trip. Ive taken them.
Well, a person sure can't be a "packer" in a warehouse and do those types of trips. Most people, or their spouse, have to have a very nice paying salary to take trips like that. Same goes for people who go to Disney World and especially for those that actually stay in a hotel on Disney property. Money is what those kinds of trips are all about.
Ive been to both Disneyland and world. It's crowded as all heck....I'm sure all those families aren't rich.
Don't have to be rich, but most are definitely "well off". Most probably work in IT, Engineers, Accounting and are supervisors or managers. Nice salaries call for nice vacations. Like I always say, "money definitely talks".
True but sometimes a nice tax refund check will get the family a nice vacation. I know we've used it sometimes.
Good afternoon, everyone. We're going to Florida in May but I doubt if I will go to Disney World. IMO, it's just another tourist trap. If anyone knows different, I'd like to hear about it.
I went there several times in the "off-season". One time I was there I met a Brit insurance guy who was divorced but promised his two daughters a trip to Disney World. After a day in park, the daughters were in the pool at the hotel, and we were in the poolside bar quaffing a few. I was actually there for business, so meetings interrupted the socializing. I also took my family once, but even the children didn't enjoy it much--long lines in the heat. As you said, every time you turned around, Disney was picking your pocket for something. Lots better places to go in the U.S. than Disney.
I'm thinking that I would like to visit the Epcot Center. I'm going to look on line before then and see what else I'd like to see.
Without a doubt, Disney World is a "tourist trap", during the summer and during Christmas holidays. Thing is, basically all of Florida is a "tourist trap" in the summer.
