Many thanks to Ken who has given me permission to put a pointer to the book I wrote concerning the first 20 years of my life that takes in being born in 1930 during the Great Depression and the WW2 London Blitz up to my farcical cockney wedding day in 1949. It was written around 14 years ago when I was recuperating from a broken left arm and a broken right hip after a fall when I was around 74yrs old . My son had learnt me how to use a computer and it was him that urged me on to write about my traumatic childhood and living through being bombed out twice. All proceeds after printing costs are taken out goes to my local.......... https://www.rainbows.co.uk/ I will also be putting up my WW2 website in another section and that too has been on the net for many years but I had to neglect it when my lovely hubby started with Dementia. I made many cyber friends from around the world through it who wanted to read the book so after it had made a tidy sum for the hospice I had it put on the website so if anyone wants to read it you can find it there in my poetry section but remember to add another 14 years on to any dates in it in the book...... https://www.reprintuk.com/books/yesterdays_child_world_war_two Thankyou to all who has welcomed me and I hope I will be able to join in some of the threads. God Bless All.
I can see that you have written several books and, from the titles, they appear to be one hundred percent on-topic for this forum. I have ordered two of your books.
Just been onto the Reprint site, I know I'm gonna look a fool here, but I can't see 'add to basket' Do I have to go to another page ? Have you published via Kindle too .......................
I had trouble with that too. If you click on her name, where it is a hyperlink near the top of the page, it will take you to a page that lists all of her books. There is an "add to basket" button by each one.
I've ordered the book then I realised there was no option for my address, I guess they get it from Paypal
Just started the book Maisie So sorry you had to endure 'the Nuns' - I used to look up to them growing up, then I heard about the abuse in Ireland and I now have no respect I've not got far (laundry day) should catch up shortly though
What a gal your Mother was with her finger flying off past yer Dad and she going to retrieve it I see why you admired her in some ways - same with me and my Mother, I admired some of her ways but mostly, I could not respect her It was lovely to see you mention the Old Kent Road, me being born in the Elephant & Castle And, you mentioned my favourite market - East Lane, loved going there Thought you would have gone hop picking - who didn't ! Miss my 'old' London
Glad to know you are enjoying the book Patsy. My mother was a demon if anyone got the wrong side of her as you will find out as you read it but strangely enough she was respected and well known for a her singing voice.
It helped her Patsy. Especially singing all the favourite songs of the war years. She could get them going.
