Happy St Andrews day Tom...being a Celtic lass I usually always remember but not today . Great photo BTW...what train is that, and which part of Fife? I haven't been in fife for many years but I have relatives who live in Burntisland, and Glenrothes....and there used to be the best chippy in the world in Dunfermline wonder if it's still there.
I love trains...not the commuter train, but lovely Old steam trains Good Morning all.. It's dark wet and windy outside this morning, and I'm just getting ready to leave for the workhouse. Woken up with really painful earache..*sigh*... but still, I have my daughters' visit to look forward to this evening, so just gotta get the thing that pays my bills outta the way for another day first ... Have a good one everybody..
Mornin all. It's a balmy 39 degrees under cloudy skies here in beautiful downtown river city, on Iowa's east bank. Supposed to hit the 40's for a high. No rain or snow in sight on the long range forecast. It's December, this is Iowa. I WANT MY COLD AND SNOW!
Well, I see by my ol' Big Ben that it's almost 3am. I have no real plans for today. I'll finish writing bill checks if that last bill came in the mail. We got a new mail person. The old one was at our building between noon and 1pm every day. This one comes whenever. I hate that. I thought about making a store run, but groceries will be delivered tomorrow, if I get in gear and make out a list in time. I guess I can wait one more day. Mmmmm, that coffee was good this morning. Been drinkin instant coffee, so I don't have to fuss with a coffee maker. It ain't bad stuff, if you don't buy the off brand kind. My store brings me store brand stuff, unless I specify a brand. Store brands are cheaper, and some things are pretty good, but I had the store brand coffee. Evil stuff. So, guess I'll wander over to Facebook and see who is awake at 3am. I know my son is. He's at work. Gets online during his breaks. Behave, or don't get caught. I have no bail money left.
It's dry today, finally, after 4 days of rain. It will take a few sunny days to dry the leaves so I can finish chopping them and mulching the fruit trees with them. I've hardly been outside since the rain started Thursday night except to feed the ducks and wild birds and the trek to the mail box.
We had the power off today until now as they are rewiring the apartment block here, so was left hanging with no connection to the outside world which was an interesting experience to say the least It's 40f and drizzly and dusk already so I guess it's a good evening more from me. Have a good rest of the day everybody.
Good to hear you're back on trackā¦have a wonderful rest of the day! Today you are YOU that is truer than true. There is no one alive that is youer than you. ~ Dr. Seuss
Cold, wet and dismal. We seem to have settled into a spell of permadrizzle, a feature of the Scottish climate. Lying in a hot bath for an hour while reading the newspaper helped. I was reminded of those Japanese monkeys that laze around in hot pools in winter. I've not noticed them reading The Guardian, admittedly.
Good morning everyone and good evening to the few who are in other countries! Still on the chilly side here but today after I take my grandson to school with his bday donuts I'm staying in...don't feel well anyway. Tonight we will celebrate his birthday with his dad grilling steaks, that was his bday dinner request and he will open his presents from family. I have been here since the 20th of November and according to my iphone app I've averaged walking 5 miles every day! And that's only when I had my phone on me. Wishing everyone a GREAT day or evening.
