May times when I wanted to catch up on some news from CNN, Anthony Bourdain and one of his "Parts Unknown" episodes would be on, and I had to watch Boudain eating some disgusting-looking plate of garbage in some unknown part of the world. Hal
I guess one could always change channels. Bourdain was good at what he did. I enjoyed many of his shows. He was an imperfect individual who no doubt had his demons for he discussed them on air. I suspect he was a very lonely man. Despite his short comings and his past if that is a factor to anyone, his program was popular and a money maker for CNN, my go to news channel. knowing that merely twenty-four hours a day news can become boring. Perhaps CNN had the good sense to know that and sponsored a program like Bourdain's. Also knowing no network or program works for everybody.
It’s all a matter of prospective Hal. In survival training, I learned that if it doesn’t eat you first, it’s probably edible. All manner of foods throughout the world are eaten such as grub worms, a delicacy for many people. The only thing I still can’t get my head around is the coffee bean from a civet’s butt drink. I’m very liberal when it comes to food and drink but that one scares me a little, like, who in the world searched through some poop and found the beans and cooked them? I’m absolutely positive that Bourdain had more than one cup of the brew but I’m still on the fence.
I didn't think he ate such terrible food, it was Andrew Zimmern that ate the weird things. Bourdain just ate mostly street food from different countries and cultures....bet they think some of our food is gross too.
I never watched his shows, but there were promos about one just recently, maybe 3 weeks ago, where he went to West Virginia. That seemed an unusual place to choose, and I wanted to catch it, but the timing didn't work out.
Toxicology reports are in and there were no narcotics found in his system...I'm kind of surprised...thought there would be. Only way I can wrap my head around suicide. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5875217/Anthony-Bourdain-NO-narcotics-committed-suicide.html Doesn't mention alcohol level though.
