I have a confession to make. I guess I have fooled you all, all these many months I have been on Seniors Only Forum. I have said I was a sickly old man with COPD when actually I’m sixty six years old, in excellent health, and rearing to go. I did retire at age 63 and glad I did because it gave me a chance to travel some although my retirement income is limited. I’m a registered democrat. I’ve always thought of myself as a fiscal conservative and a moderate liberal on other issues. I have voted for as many republicans as democrats for president. I know many people are carried away with our current president and he has done some good things but if I were boss of the universe, I would boot him back into real estate. I don’t have any special talents. I generally go at everything the hard way and it takes me longer than most to accomplish something seemingly simple. I spent my working years behind a desk. I have enjoyed interacting with some of you and hope this continues far into the future. I know one or more of you blocked me on another forum for railing against guns but this too was a pretense. I am a gun owner. I got my first rifle at age twelve and have owned numerous guns since. It’s true I live in Oklahoma but I’ll never be an oklahoman. I’ll always be a transplant. Oklahoma is one of the poorest states in the nation and proud of it. I just wanted to set the record straight. I hope you all have great vacations and merry Christmas.
Well now I'm confused....since this is in Tall Tails. Do you have Copd? The other stuff I knew about you vaguely from reading the other forum.
Ah, I am so glad you clarified your political stance and you’re really not COPD. (can only patronize democrats). It does my pea picking heart well to see you’re setting the record straight.
He didn't fool me one bit. Quote: "I’m a registered democrat. I’ve always thought of myself as a fiscal conservative and a moderate liberal on other issues." That's exactly how I would describe myself, @Bill Boggs except for the D word.
Well, if I was somewhere close in North Carolina, I'd ring you up and say, "I know a great little place not far from you, how about dinner tonight. And we could discuss the D word or the entire alphabet.
Would you settle for a hamburger cooked on the charcoal grill? They're way better than anything you can get anywhere else.
@Chrissy Cross No, that post was merely wistful thinking. I'm the same old dud, eat up with COPD, and one foot in the grave. Sometime I think my mind is sharp and contained in a wore out body. I was merely trying to think of something to write. I 'm old and sometime sickly, someone everyone wants to avoid, but sometime my imagination is vivid and alive. Time to sign off. My show is coming on at nine pm, Yellowstone.
Have to say your post upset me Bill, there are some things you don't joke about as I really cared about your situation and would often sit and think about you
It distresses me to know I have upset you with my shenanigans. Please know this, I am a self depreciationing individual, have been forever more and of course, have been known to exgaugurate (sp) or enhance any situation. Don't give me or my health a second thought. I'm not worth. And thanks for being friendly with me. bbbbbbbill.
Well Bill, I always speak from the heart and I liked you from the start - I admired you This was a blow to me as I felt I had been fooled and as much as I want you to be well and happy I feel you should have ended your original post with 'wishful thinking' because 'that' I can understand not being in good health myself
@Patsy Faye So sorry and saddened that I have caused you grief. In another time and place causing a lady grief might have earned me three lashes with the cane. Bless you for giving it to me straight. I may be getting too old to communicate with real people. I will take my harmonica and go sit in the corner. I wish you happiness and good health.
This is the "Tall Tales & Fabrications" section, after all. It's a place to make stuff up or even to tell deniable truths.
