Well it's around 7,500 miles from where I am at the moment @Chrissy Cross , the nearest I have been is The Grand Canyon, Lisa and I had planned to come to the US for a vacation, but getting a visa for a Russian citizen is virtually impossible now
But does everyone know where Macedonia, Bulgaria and Austria are? I met an exchange student from Albania a few years back, and he began to tell me where it was. I interrupting him with "I know where it is on the Adriatic." He replied that he had been in the U.S. for 18 months and I was the first American he had met who knew where it was located.
Yep, I bet many Americans don't know where many places are around the world, whereas most foreigners know where all the states are.
I do that too.... Also wanted to add that even though my car is paid off now, my kids are still continuing sending me the money. So, at least I can be as cool as I want. Actually thinking of using the bonus money for someone to do a thorough cleaning job once a month on my house. I know...I'm lazy!!
A quick good morning from Heathrow, we are waiting for our flight to Austria. It's another sunny hot day in the UK. Bulgaria is the same as here, hot in the upper 70s, Macedonia is hotter getting up to 90 See you later have a good weekend
My geography at school was pretty poor, I have learnt through travel, these days though I am never sure where I am when I wake up
I had the same thing at school Terry, I was useless at Geography, but now due to a lot of travel outside of my own country I'm much more aware , but even more useful and wonderful for me is that I learned about people, and all their different lifestyles and attitudes, which I think makes me much more tolerant of people in comparison to those who have rarely travelled and have no idea that lifestyles, customs and attitudes vary greatly worldwide . No amount of reading can allow one to understand people in the same way as visiting or living among them Good morning all... It's almost 11am..it's very hot again... our garden is immaculate after a week of hard work, so no need to do anything there today, but we do need to dispose of a huge sack of leaves, so we'll be taking them to the woods today at some point... and then perhaps a visit to the garden centre. Hubs bought me a £40 voucher for my birthday in April and a couple of vouchers for a cream tea, so as he's got a day off today, we may go and use them Safe journey @Chrissy Cross ...have a good day everyone..
Good morning everyone! Thanks @Holly Saunders ....I got up way too early so will leave as soon as it's light out. Which won't be for awhile since it's only 3:30 am.
