My Pit started before 6:30 am, when I dropped my new meds rx for over a 180 tabs..3mo. supply- all over the kitchen floor. VEry hard on these ole knees trying to pick all those pills up - but I gott'er done ! Wish i could say the day has been better--- NOT...but hey it could be worse- and the day is almost over
You have my heartfelt sympathies, @Gloria Mitchell ! I would be doing good to even FIND them at that hour of the day, let alone crawl around and pick them all up again. I am notoriously bad for dropping just about anything (always have been, so I can’t even blame it on my age), and I keep my meds in a little wicker tray. I have one of those weekly pill dispensers that does morning and evening meds, and each week, I sit down in my chair with the TV tray and the pill box, and carefully refill each days worth of medications. I might still drop some, but at least it is only one time set of meds if I do drop it, and there is a good chance that it will fall into my lap and I can find it again.
Peak: walked 3 miles along the bay in Monterey. Weather was perfect. Will post some pics tomorrow...I'm pooped.
@Gloria Mitchell When I inadvertently spill the contents of some storage container, the result usually is I retrieve a magnet to pick the stuff up: it'a almost always tiny steel things, last time very small washers. Frank
Peak....Yesterday we drove 20 miles through the glorious surrounding countryside, sooo beautiful at this time of year, and had lunch at a village pub belonging to the parents of a celebrity tv chef..we've been a few times before but this was totally off the cuff, and we got there just in time for the end of lunch service.. delicious food!! Pit:..None I am delighted to report ....
Peak: Went to JIA/Airport to see where our airlines ticket counter is and where we'd be parking our vehicle for the week. Everyone wearing typical Florida clothes of shorts and tennis shoes...…...not a bit of Western clothes there. Yea, we will be noticed when we get to the airport next Saturday...….wearing all Western clothes, including cowboy hats. Compared to LAX in Los Angeles and O'Hara in Chicago, our airport is very small. We heard one jet take off and that was it. Was able to get back home before a big t-storm hit. Pit: Just the terrible young drivers on the freeway. WOW! Speeding, no turn signals. People here just don't seem to care at all about anyone else on the freeway. But, then again, there are those that go way to slow as well and literally piss of drivers behind them.
Won't you be a bit hot arriving at the Jacksonville airport in western clothes @Cody Fousnaugh ? What will the temps be in Colorado when you get there...when do you go?
Holly, look up Cheyenne Frontier Days on the Internet. You’ll see there what people wear. Outdoor rodeos go on all across the U.S. during summer heat. Long sleeve shirts and jeans are clothing reqirements for both cowboys and cowgirls to compete in. Horses, bulls and steers are constantly being watered. We will both be in short-sleeve shirts, jeans, boots and hats when we fly out. It will be somewhat hot, but we have worn Western clothes before during heat at rodeos in So Calif., Colorado and Wyoming. We will have summer wear with in luggage. To a point, Western clothes is just part of us when in Colorado and Wyoming. It will look rather odd at the airport, but that’s just the way we will be dressed. Leave in about two weeks.
Now, Frank, don’t make fun of cowboys! If it weren’t for cowboys, there would have never been The Lone Ranger, Wyatt Earp, Matt Dillion, Jessie James, Rowdy Yates, Roy Rogers and others.
This has pretty much been my day today. I don't even remember that peak or that pit. But the day is still young. ps. I kind of prefer it that way. lol
@Cody Fousnaugh , what about taking a picture of you both in your western clothes and posting it here? You can leave your faces off if you prefer..
I don't post pictures of us, other than the one of us in our Halloween costumes, on here. However, we are on Facebook. Why would you want to see a picture of us in our Western clothes? We are just a Senior couple with cowboy hats, Wrangler jeans, boots and trophy belt buckles on. Not a big deal at all.
It isn't a big deal at all but you insist on making it one. Don't know why. Just the other day the DM had an article about all the crazy people at airports and how they look and act. Jeans and a cowboy hat is not that out of the ordinary when traveling. That's the point...you are leaving somewhere and going to a place that people wear what you're wearing.
