Wrangler brand jeans are the most popular in pro-rodeo, because Wrangler is a major sponsor the sport. In fact Sam Elliott, a very well known U.S. actor, wears Wrangler jeans on and off the set of the movie he is doing. There are Levi jeans, but Levi's aren't nearly related to the Western lifestyle as much as Wranglers are. People in NYC would wear Levi's, not Wrangler jeans. It's just the way it is. Some "city" folks wear the pointed boots to a nightclub as well as some "city" gals can wear really, really flashy boots to a nightclub. It also depends on where that nightclub is...…….Los Angeles or Billings, Montana. When I was in Billings, years ago, I went to a nightclub and all I seen was Roper brand boots. Not a single pointed type boot. Ladies were wearing cowboy hats as well as the guys.
@Cody Fousnaugh ...picture was great. See that didn't hurt ? Being from Texas and long line of goat ropers I like the western look and see no reason anyone would think of you as oddly dressed. Met hubby in western dance club..awe the days...we still have the hats...but the boots are long gone....enjoy and boot scoot a bit for us
Peak...(not really a peak however..) after spending all weekend out and about, I caught up with all the chores today. Took my time because it's sooo hot ...but I got the washing and drying done and put away.. Vac'd all through up and downstairs... then got the electric trimmer out and trimmed the back (fence side) of a 20 foot hedge on our land which had been missed the other day. Swept up all the leaves..and everything looks ship shape again ( for another day lol)... just got to attach the sprinklers after dinner, and all is done for another day. Pit.. there has been a pit...but I'm not at liberty to say online, (family business)
But......when we visited our airport on Saturday AM, didn't see anyone that was dressed Western. Everyone was wearing shorts, t-shirts, slacks and tennis shoes. So, with us dressed fully Western, with hats on, and the only ones dressed that way, I think we'd been noticed as "oddly" dressed...…….being this is a Florida airport and in Jacksonville. IOW, Gloria, our airport isn't in Wyoming, Montana, Texas, Oklahoma, North or South Dakota or any of the High Plains States (Nebraska or Kansas. Shoot, even the airport in Colorado (DIA) has pictures of Rocky Mountain National Park and Elk on the walls.
Cody...do you really give a rats behind what anyone else thinks....seriously...when there are folks with multi colored hair..metal hanging out holes that belong...trust me you both look great ...hold your chin up and strut that two step all the way to the plane
@Holly Saunders The PIT............and the......PENDULUM. Proof that all events which sway between good and bad can be counted on to swing too far in both directions. The midpoint is totally uneventful. Frank
I know what you mean, Gloria, but I'm the type that will like the looks we might get from what we are wearing. "What the heck is that" they could be thinking. Most likely someone will ask "are you and your wife from Texas"? And, I will have to say "nope, heading to Denver and then up to Wyoming for major rodeo." BTW, don't even know if we can even do a 2-step anymore, but might just find out. I loved country dancing, but loved riding and roping much more.
peak--having 3 grandchildren for the week pit--having a squirrel in the greenhouse and the dog chasing it. I thought it was going to be a disaster, but we survived...the plants did, too.
