Do you ever use movie quotes to express how you're feeling at the moment.

These are a few that I use alot at work or at home sometimes.
(using them at home is a 'use at own risk' type thing...)

"What we got here, (pause), is a failure to communicate."
    Covers SO many situations.

"You're gonna need a bigger boat..."
Used when people tackle a job they're not ready for.

    "You're killing me, Smalls"
Hands down, my most used quote.

"I love the smell of Napalm in the morning".
Use this one at random times, just to keep co-workers guessing.

Anybody else use quotes to let people know how they feel?

    Hey Tim:

If you'll listen carefully to Strother Martin (as the Captain in "Cool Hand Luke"), you'll find that he did not say "What we've got here is a failure to communicate".

What he said was "What we've got here is failure to communicate."

I watch the video frequently enough to memorize the lines!

"You're gonna need a bigger boat." is from "Jaws".

"What we've got here is failure to communicate." is from "Cool Hand Luke".

"I love the smell of Napalm in the morning." is from "Apocalypse Now".

"Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn." is from "Gone With The Wind".

I have all these and literally hundreds more.

I may be cross eyed but those two quotes look the same to me?

They may look the same to you, Shirley, because you're not reading them carefully.

In the early part of the film, after capturing Luke, the Captain said "What we've got here is failure to communicate."

Near the end, when Luke was about to be captured for the last time, he mimicked the Captain by saying:

"What we've got here is a failure to communicate."

If you can't see the difference between those 2 quotes, then just forget it and have a Bourbon on the Rocks.

Not really a quote, but when both boys are visiting us, I will start with...

King Arthur: I am your king.

    Then they will reply with...

Dennis's Mother: Well I didn't vote for you.

King Arthur: You don't vote for kings.

Dennis's Mother: Well how'd you become king then?

King Arthur: The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite
held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water,
signifying by divine providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur.
THAT is why I am your king.

Dennis: [interrupting] Listen, strange women lyin' in ponds
distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government.
Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses,
not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

We have watched Monty Python's 'The Holy Grail' so many times, we know almost every line in the movie.
( The wife just rolls her eyes and mumbles, ' not again...' )

"That's the way it crumbles, cookie-wise."...

A cute twist on an old expression, from The Apartment (1960).
