But it's not the fun part! :)

Well maybe it is...I certainly hope so...

Health issues are an anxiety trigger for me so seeing people sick and dying would scare me.

Good morning to you all, we are in the middle of a National Park called " Mavrovo" it borders Albania, which would be easy to stray into, but the Albanians don't mind if you do evidently.
The place we are staying at is a new restaurant with rooms, called "House of the Mijaks" and is built in the traditional Macedonian style, it's situated high in the mountains, so it's cool in the low 70s and the air is fresh, the area very peaceful.

We had a good dinner on the terrace last night, and afterwards retiring to bed, I started to write a post and fell asleep laptop in hand, [IMG] ...... Lisa rescued it, then on and off I slept some 10 hours until 6 am. [IMG]

This morning we are visiting the nearby 11th century monastery and a walk in the forest to a famous waterfall, then we drive down the Albanian border to lake Ohrid which is shared by Albania.

    Have a great Thursday

    Good morning all...

Another hottie...supposed to get to 95 here today......Sheesh...we need a rain god..or a wind god to give us some breeze... Actually they have forecast a possible T- storm for us tonight. so I'm praying that will happen and bring us some much needed rain, and cooler temps.. I have got to get some sleep soon, it's just impossible to sleep in this heat for more than an hour or 2.. . I was talking with my neighbour about our lack of AC and she agreed with me that to go to the expense of installing it, would most likely be a filly, because we'd end up with the next 3 years of cold summers.. o_O

Anyway..yesterday I saw my consultant, and yet more tests have to be performed.. MRI again.. and fast tracked. so that means probably in the next 2 weeks..

@Don Alaska , wow 65 salmon caught in one day...how fantastic. My o/h eats a lot of Hot smoked salmon, obviously from the store, but do you smoke your own?....

Hubs is away on business, not home for a couple of days... and I'm going out later for brunch with 2 friends from work...

Have a good day folks..stay well hydrated!!

Today, July 26th, is All or Nothing Day

"It's a day to stop thinking about something you've been deliberating doing and to finally decide if you are going to do it or not. If you decide to do it, don't go at it delicately, but put your whole being into it. If you decide not to do it, then don't think about it again." :)

Yep, we smoke our own. We once did it on a larger scale, but with no kids at home anymore, we just do one or two filets at a time. Still praying for you on the outcome of your scans and images. We are still cool and rainy here. Maybe it will work its way around the globe....

Good morning, 108 today and right now humidity is at 43 % but it's always higher in the morning, as the day heats up the humidity goes down...thank goodness.

Hoping nothing goes wrong for me today...so far so good but it's only 7:05 am and I haven't gotten into my car yet to go out.

Right now the worst thing would be a power outage and no A/C.

Wishing you good results also @Holly Saunders.

Hello from Ohrid in the south west of Macedonia, we love this place and could easily spend a week here chilling out [IMG], our host said she has a lot of visitors from the UK, you can fly here direct from London for £26 ($35) crazy price really [IMG]

Lisa has been swimming in the lake, the water is warm and clear, and we have also walked around town and just had a great dinner.
The journey here through the mountains was spectacular, though the thunderstorms and heavy rain made driving a tad difficult with flooding and poor visibility, but we made it here to be met by sunshine.

A few photos of our day..

When I get bored and our tele is running off at the mouth, I look up Terry Page and find out what part of the world he is in. I read his notes, view his photos and feel the tranquility these import. He and his lovely seem to have it all, and I'm glad they share it. Here's to you and the misses, Terry. @Terry Page

The only thing stopping me from buying a ticket right now to go there @Terry Page , are those cats. I really dislike cats with a passion... sorry @Ken Anderson but I do, and the reason we stopped going to the Greek islands and Cyprus was because wherever we went, there were masses of stray cats, and sitting eating anywhere inside or out would guarantee a cat or 2 jumping on the table ...YUK!!

Thanks Bill you are very kind, I try to post what I would like to see if I could no longer travel myself, you would love the tranquillity of this part of Macedonia for sure, the landscape is mountainous and the air fresh. We are lucky it's only in the 70s at the moment, a lot lower than the normal July/August temperatures here of 90 to 100f.

I took this photo at 5:30 am this morning from our balcony, looking across to Albania which occupies a third of the lake in their territory, you can see the Albanian mountains to the right of the photo.

We had cats and dogs as children, @Holly Saunders and I loved both but felt closer to dogs, funnily enough as I have slipped into my dotage, I prefer cats for some reason, finding them more peaceful. Lisa had dogs in her childhood, but is now a cat person too, but doesn't particularly like strays, regarding them as dirty.
I have never been bothered by cats on tables, but find they are around restaurants in most countries, including a lot in Russia. Romania is plagued with packs of stray dogs everywhere which can be menacing at times.
I wonder why you dislike cats so much, maybe a bad childhood experience

Yes it was a bad childhood experience Terry... don't get me wrong I would never harm a cat.. but they give me the heebie jeebies...and also my husband is seriously allergic to them..

I have never been anywhere, where there's packs of roaming dogs, much as I love dogs, I would be scared of that of course...
Spain does get the odd stray dog or cat..but mainly out in the villages and never in packs...

In Limasol Cyprus once we had a horrendous experience.. the whole porch area in front of the door to the hotel had been chosen for the town's population of stray cats as their choice of where to live.. the cats were approx 20 cats wide...and 50 deep.... to get into the hotel we had to wade through some really feral cats.... the owner of the hotel refused to see a problem when people complained ( that was before trip advisor )
