I would tell you about my childhood run in with a cat..but , would rather tell you how my day has begun. We live in a nice gated apartment complex. We live down stairs and have for 6 years. My hubby was up as usual at 3;30 to ready for work. i as up by 4. I do not put the hearing aids in until later on. Was on the pc and far i the distance could hear a noise , but not make out just what. Hubby comes out from shower asked if he heard anything- yes some kid having a fit. After a bit he goes outside, as he told me something is wrong. I waited, put in the ole aids and headed outside to the front breezeway. I could hear Mark my husband talking, and a child upstairs. A boy of four, with speech impediment trying to explain how he got up to go to bathroom, and got lost. Mark found him trying to get into a breeze way closet, that was locked.MArk knocked several times on the apt. next to the closet, but no response. I called police and they came out- three of them..lol, explained the situation. An officer went up stairs and knocked hard and loud repeatedly until someone answered the door. Anyways, Mark said later sounded like the parent was gettin the Parent lecture- maybe. All is well, but sure was a different morning. He was a cute little blond headed kid. he grabs hold of me and hugs me..excuse me,I am a hugger... LOl well alrighty then , just hug away.
Good evening from Ohrid, a place we have come to love so much, we have spent the day exploring the fort and several churches and museums................. we ended up in the middle of some cultural festival involving many countries from the Balkans and beyond, I have taken a couple of videos and many photos, but it's late now so I will only post a few of the lake and a church. Have a good weekend... Here are a couple of the lake viewed from the fort, which look exactly like real life, a soft moody blue magical effect... The most photographed church in Macedonia, "Saint John the Theologian" ....
Good morning all, we are getting ready to move to our last destination in Macedonia, before we return to the UK next Tuesday though it will good to catch up with everyone at home ... Here are a few photos and a couple of videos from last nights festivities.. Our dinner was at the same restaurant but this time accompanied by dogs, I had one by my side after an hour the dogs left and the cats arrived, it seems to be an arrangement
Morning all... What a difference a day makes. Last night we had a T & L storm and it's cleared the air so much, and brought the temps down significantly. It's still sunny and warm, but the humidity is much reduced and we have quite a breeze so sitting here by the window is cooling enough without having to have the fans on for the first time in weeks. Hubs is home now..we're going off to the next large town later to pick up some stuff he has on order Have a good day folks...
G'morning folkies... It's a very wet and breezy Sunday....yeaaahhh!! Temps hace fallen by over 10 degrees, and although the wind chill makes it feel really cold outside, it's still warm indoors, but the gardens are getting a much needed soaking. Yesterday was sunny and very windy until the rain started around early evening..by which time we'd been and bought some new stuff for the back garden. A new Stone Bath, which looks way better than it did on the stores' website, and I wasn't keen, but my o/h wanted it, and he fitted a solar pump to it as soon as we got back home...and although it's raining hard today and no sun it's working quite well..it'll be better once it gets a blast of solar rays later in the week. It just pays to shop around tho'..always my mantra anyway..but not my husband's..because we got this for less less than half the price most places online were charging ...and due going to the store rather than having it delivered , I spotted a wooden chair and table companion set for the garden to replace my Rattan set which the sun has damaged quite significantly on the arms.. again at a Huge Discounted price and super quality.. . I've put the new set into the Barn where it'll stay until next spring, and I'll let the Rattan furniture see out this summer... We had Chinese food last night for dinner..got take out from a restaurant and brought it home... I don't have it often even tho' I love it.. but it was delicious. Had way too much as usual when it comes to Chinese, and paid the price in the night with horrible heartburn but hey I enjoyed it when I was eating it...but I won't be in any rush to have more!! Have a peaceful Sunday everyone...
I guess our weather DID make it around the globe! 48 f. and warming. It will top out around 70 F. this afternoon.
Yes it did indeed , we've dropped from a massive 34 deg C to 19 C in 36 hours quite a difference, so this morning I had to wear a cardigan on top of my dress for the first time in weeks... but they've forecast this rain and cold to last just until Tuesday when the sun will be back, and climb from 24 deg back up to 30 degrees by Friday .
Good evening from Bitola our second night here, before we return to Skopje for our last night before flying back to London on Tuesday. We arrived here yesterday to another festival, this time of folk music and dancing, I will post some photos and videos soon. We visited a very interesting private museum this afternoon, full of German motorbikes and some old American cars, as well as a lot of other memorabilia. It's 9pm here and we have just walked back from a great restaurant, that plays various genres of music from the 60s through to the 80s, it's very atmospheric and it's our second evening there. I am drunk on life and beer so will wish you a goodnight before I fall asleep. I hope your weekend is going well.... ....a few pics from the museum we visited
Good morning from Skopje, sorry I didn't make it on here yesterday, we drove back here via Lake Matka, which is evidently the oldest man made lake in the world, it has several underwater caves, but one which can be accessed only by boat, so we went on an hours trip up the lake, surviving a rainstorm in the middle of it, the boat was open so no shelter, it was all very enjoyable though and we dried off quickly. A bit later this morning we go to the airport to catch our flight to Vienna and then another one to London....... see you later in the UK. Have a good week... Here are a few photos taken on the lake and in the cave, which was very pretty..... After the thunderstorm the lake took on a magical quality with the resulting mist produced... Plus of course the inevitable bride we come across wherever we go
I got up at 2AM, let both (2)dogs out, had two cups of coffee and am now going back to bed two hours later.
