I'm more anxious than depressed...just in a rut that I'm trying to get out of... Yes, eating well. Overwhelmed for no reason really, lonely, bored...just don't know what I want or need at this time. Don't want to stay here but also don't want to leave and move in with daughter just yet. I'm just not in a good place mentally right now....
I completely understand. I'm starting to feel that if I don't find myself something to fill the vacancy my retirement has left I'll become the same... I am fortunate that I have my husband of course.. but he's gone most of the time.. although from tomorrow he has a week or more off..but usually I'm mostly on my own. I do get out and about often and I keep myself busy in the garden a lot when I'm at home, and my photography also keeps me occupied too, but there's some days I could pull my hair out with boredom and frustration...... . so I can totally understand your situation, ..... .. Is there nowhere you can volunteer in your area where you are not fixed to the same hours?...just enough to get out and have people to chat to as well as something to do...?
I'm working on finding something without a set schedule but most like set schedules. I have lunch tomorrow with the ladies from Curves. Will see what happens.
This is why I hate AT&T...spent 3 hrs talking to 3 people just trying get my TV disconnected. Still working this morning...I don't trust them so at 4:30 am I'm chatting online with them...grrr... At least I did a screenshot and have proof since they didn't send me an email about anything.
Next month I'm cancelling my landline...hope that's not going to be like this. Most people have my cell phone number but my supermarket and Walgreens rewards and discounts I used my landline number...will I have to change that? Anybody know? @Yvonne Smith Also...what do I call on my cell phone for 911? I used to know but forgot...is it also 911? Problem is my cell phone number is a different area code...it Monterey's since I got my it when we returned from Hungary and didn't move to Fresno until a few weeks later. My life is really not that difficult, actually an easy comfortable life but every little thing overwhelms me lately
Pit ....Scruffy's ashes came home today... Peak...they are in a beautiful albeit Huge urn.... daughter is going to let me have some to put into a piece of jewellery or a paperweight... can't decide yet...and the rest of his ashes will be buried in the Orchard which was his favourite place...
You can change the phone number on your store rewards cards, and all you should have to do is log in to your account and do it; but since they are not calling you, it is really not a big issue to be concerned about, @Chrissy Cross . The only time I have needed to use the phone number is if I didn’t have the reward card along, and then they ask for the phone number; so as long as you give them the landline number, it will still work fine. Calling 911 is the same on a cell phone, and it should connect you with the nearest emergency service, regardless of what the phone area code is on your phone . If I can help, just message me, or even give me a phone call, Chrissy. I somehow threw my back out of whack, so I am just being home and not doing much until it recuperates, and will have time to chat if you have questions.
Thanks @Yvonne Smith ...you've answered everything so far. Sorry about your back...hoping for a speedy recovery!! ❤️
My night ending and day starting are not going well. Went to bed early 9ish pm. Mark has to be up at 2:30. At 11:15 the fire alarm system goes off. Everyone in our building up waiting on fire truck. Most of us know there is no fire, but as previously happened, a malfunction in the alarm system and or water sprinkler system...who knows for sure. At about 11:45 we head back to bed. I can not go back to sleep, plus I start having a bit of a cough. I finally get up at 1 am. Lovely having a nosebleed, that has not happened in a while. So here I sit, half awake and half a sleep with tissue hanging from me nose hoping this does not last long. Hopefully later in the morning I can go back to sleep
Hope your day is better today @Gloria Mitchell! A cough and a nose bleed would have me having a panic attack. Anything health related wether big or small scare me lately. Didn't used to...too many people dying did this to me I think and I'm getting older. It all kind of started when Ina died..we were about the same age, some same issues.
At 3:45AM, neighbors A/C goes on, with a rather loud rattling noise. One of our bedroom windows faces the A/C. I was already awake from going to the bathroom, but the rattling noise kept me awake. Noise went on for almost 45 minutes, but when it finally went off, I still couldn't get back to sleep, so got up. Grrrrrrrrrrr!!! Same thing happened yesterday AM and I was up at 5AM, due to the rattling noise. Told the Asst. Manager yesterday, but she sort of brushed me off about it. My wife completely slept thru the A/C noise, but she will tell the manager this afternoon when she gets home. Hopefully Maintenance can get the damn thing fixed. Very annoying and loud. Funny that the people living in the apartment don't hear the noise. Guess they are heavy sleepers. Sort of wish I was!
My A/C unit is outside and is on the opposite side of my bedroom. Although I can tell when it kicks on, it's pretty quiet....it also pretty New so if it was making a real loud noise, I'd be concerned. I can sleep through noise except for the sound of snoring. In fact I prefer some kind of sound when going to bed and sleep. My TV finally is off so tonight I have to figure out an alternative...maybe my iPad until I hook up my firestick in the bedroom.
Have you got Google Home or Amazon echo, CC?... you could get it to read you a book or play music, nice and low...
I have a terrible time going to sleep if the television is on, or even the radio. It is better if it is music and not someone talking; but I prefer to not have either one. I do try to listen to either a subliminal motivation or guided meditation tape at night sometimes, but even then, I have to be in the “right place” to tolerate that. There are a lot of those guided meditation videos on youtube, and the ones with just night sounds or ocean waves, and you could try playing something like that on your ipad with speakers on, and see if that helps you to go to sleep, @Chrissy Cross . Some of the videos are for helping a person sleep; so one of those might be a good fit. Just listen to a few (for a few minutes) and see if you find something that you think might help you fall asleep at night, and then try it out and see if it helps.
No, I don't have either one.... I'll just find something on my iPad. All I ever did was watch my recorded reruns of Big Bang anyway...didn't need to have eyes open, just listened and I'd fall asleep. Soon I'll have Netflix, Hulu and Prime on the bedroom TV...I have the firestick but haven't installed it yet. Going to remove my direct tv receiver today, probably mail it back tomorrow and then see how my firestick works. Even on my iPad it doesn't matter what I watch..just something I'm familiar with and won't keep me awake because I'm curious to see what's going on. Ridiculous anyway that I was paying almost $90 a month to watch reruns of Big Bang to fall asleep....just my addiction, lol I never turned on any TV in my house all day long..what a waste of money!!! @Yvonne Smith ....I'll try listening to rain on YouTube....something I seldom hear here anyway.
