Peak: all my ducks are in a row, everything is done and done smoothly!! PIt: unfortunately the way my mind works I'm thinking ahead that something is bound to go wrong Wish I could stop that.
I can see, Ken, but my sight seems to be getting whiter and whiter (cataracts taking over). Will have it done in November so I can put on my Vader costume for Halloween. Had a lot of fun with neighbor kids on Halloween night last year, with it on.
Oh, I am not saying that it's the wrong thing to do. Both my wife and daughter did not find it to be particularly uncomfortable, even. The horridness is all in my own mind.
@Chrissy Cross , and whomever else wants to pay heed. I was told yesterday by friend of medical person, that the nbr one thing that gets older folk down quicker than anything is not being social. Um, well I am far from social... anyways I am working on that. @Babs Hunt , proud of you getting out of your comfort zone..in driving,I truly understand.I to am making some changes and getting out of my comfort zone. Yesterday drove to my BFF house about 22 miles away, then we drove to the community train station, rode train to another town. Went sightseeing in the Sun Dance Square, several painting museums, gift shops.and other places. Had lunch at the Flying Saucer. Wow by the time we rode train back, then me heading home.. Tired a bit, but happy. I know, big deal , but for me it really is. I will soon check out some other places, and try to become more involved. Just trying to maintain the mind and body at the same time.
Pit: Sat down with the wife last night to make dinner/lunch reservations for our November Disney World Trip. Most are for a dinner and priority seating for some parade or light show thing. Not sure what I wanted for dinner last night, let alone what I'll be hungry for 90 days from now! As I was told, " has to be done, they fill up quick..." and " quit your whining" .
The wife is anything but a morning person, especially on vacation. So I thought I'd sneak in a Character Breakfast reservation as a pay back. "But honey, the breakfast with Mickey and Minnie were going fast, had to act quick while I had the chance..."
When wife and I have gone to Las Vegas, we are both up by 7AM and on our way down Vegas Blvd by 8AM to a Breakfast Buffet at one of the hotel/casinos. Las Vegas Blvd is pretty much empty at that time of day, because everyone sleeps in after a "party night" on the town. That definitely isn't us. We are in bed by midnight, at the latest. The buffet we go to is pretty much empty as well. When we are on vacation, we both take breakfast very seriously. And, we generally take a nap in our room from 2PM til 4PM.
About the fire stick, @Chrissy Cross , you should be able to find a good tutorial video for it on youtube (the Font of All Knowledge). The Roku one is not much different from using a tv remote once you get used to it, but there are SO many channels you have to go to the website and add the ones you think you would want to watch. Since ours is in the exercise room, all I ever use from the Roku is Youtube, to watch a video while I am riding the exercise bike (which is not very often, that thing is seriously UNCOMFORTABLE !)
Way to go @Gloria Mitchell! I'm proud of you and your friend! When I drove my Honey and me to Arlington and back all my kids and siblings were so proud of me and let me know it too. This encouragement from all of them inspired me to keep on trying more steps out of my comfort zone. So the next step I took was joining the Health Club down the street from us and I'm proud to say I can already feel my muscles toning up some and have definitely noticed I feel more energetic too. So every step you or I or any of us take out of our comfort zones is a big deal Gloria....and will help us rediscover who we are now and what interests us besides just sitting home doing the same old, same old. I'm 67 years old and every day on the local News at 5pm they show a local 90 year old and older living life to the fullest and those 90 year olds have more get up and go then me. They have been my inspiration to step out of my comfort zone too.
Thanks, Ive already bookmarked a YouTube video on it but haven't watched it yet. I feel asleep ok the last two nights with my iPad on my bed...only proble with my iPad is I need my glasses...for the TV I didn't...seems I could see that easily without them. I guess my eyes are good at middle distance.
First off I am not in a good mood I don't know why but I'm not. Then I had to take radar to the vet infected ears infected eyes $197! So I have to give him medicine 3 times a day for the next two weeks he has to work home then I have to take him back to have him rechecked out . There are other irritating things going on...but not life threatening. Am trying to snap out of it....
Sorry to hear about Radar @Gloria Mitchell ....I'm sure everything will be ok but vet bills can be a pain. Ive been very luck so far with Pickles...knock on wood. Except for the routine type visits he's never been sick in 11 years.
