Chicken on the grill..seasoned...creamed corn and cabbage with onion zucchini and bacon...steam fried...and New York style Jewish Rye toast.
I have been grazing today, although not in a healthy way. My wife is in Connecticut, on her way to a funeral, so I am here alone. For breakfast, I had Mac and Cheese, which would be an odd breakfast if not for the fact that I didn't get up until noon. Later, I had a container of blueberries. Then some sweet corn, and later a pear. I had a couple of red hotdogs because my wife won't let me buy them when she's home. Lastly, I made some chili and that will probably be it for today, unless I decide to have another pear before going to bed.
Pouring down (and I DO mean pouring down) rain here today, thunderstorms occasionally. Supposed to be like this most of the week. I am making soup for today. It is red field peas with veggies and ham. Smells good so far. I have never had red field peas before . They remind me of lentils, but it smells like pea soup cooking. Has anyone ever had this kind of peas before, and , if so, how did you cook them ?
I've cooked field peas before (don't know if they were red) but I add either bacon bits, some diced ham or sausage, the Holy Trinity, and cajun seasoning to taste.
I just had my early supper of 3 beef taco supremes and some pintos and cheese from Taco Bell. Sometimes a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do and I have been hungry for that for over a week. So today I satisfied that craving.
I made a nice veggie pot of soup..it is a bit nippy here and still raining. Somehow this just sounded good for today.
I'm gonna have a cup of TJ's butternut squash soup and an open faced avocado, low sodium turkey breast and a slice of cheese.sandwich. For lunch I had a lean cuisine chicken something, Breakfast was fiber one cereal with almond milk and a probiotic yogurt. Will eat a banana after dinner. I'm still not very hungry but making an effort.
Leftovers .. or as my hubby like to say .. It's Scraps Night ! I did a turkey dinner yesterday so we are set for a few days with great stuff like sandwiches, soup, pot pie and such.
