There could be other factors as well, including positioning, pillow type and mattress and bed position.
There is a small meter which fits on your finger that tells you your oxygen percentage of the blood it also tells you the pulse too. I have two of them if the percentage is below 96% is not good and if it is below 92% you are probably dead. Most people run about 98% Amazon Zacurate Pro Series 500DL Fingertip Pulse Oximeter Blood Oxygen Saturation Monitor with silicon cover, batteries and lanyard (Mystic Black) by Zacurate $18.95 $ 18 95
The price is good and it looks like vital information I need to know. I will buy one of these. Thanks.
@Martin Alonzo ......" if it is below 92% you are probably dead. " When I had my wife run me to ER with breathing difficulties, their instruments indicated 84%; I was not dead, and far from it! Scared, yes. My problem was bronchospasm, where the air passageways narrow down due to muscle actions, likely allergic, but cause never found. Frank
Well Frank I can always be mistaken but below 96% you are in trouble and if you survived all well and good for you. I know when my son had asthma his oxygen would get down to 97% so we would give him some ozone water which we make and it would go up in less than 5 minuets it would be 98-99%
My husband had COPD and his oxygen level dropped below 92% many times. It even went down to below 80% several times, maybe down into the 70s a few times. The nurses would come rushing in and turn the machine up until the oxygen level went back up.
