That is interesting, @Chrissy Cross . I was reading not very long ago that Walmart was going to start closing some of the super-centers because they were not doing well. Bobby and I thought it must be because so many people order online from places like Amazon , or from Walmart online.
The Super Wally that we go to was only built about 2 years ago, and the parking lot is packed any time that we go there, so we are probably not in danger of losing our Walmart any time soon, either.
Besides that, they also built one of the small Neighborhood Markets about a mile from where we live. We call it “Baby Wally”. It actually has as much food as the Super Wally does, but not all of the other stuff.

I have a baby Wally near my super Walmart but I wasn't impressed when I checked it out.

It's just across from the super Walmart so I'd rather go there.

I seldom go to Walmart in general...but will occasionally if I'm in the area.

It's out of my 3 mile radius :)

I hate Walmarts, big and small. The small Walmart in Bangor was replaced by a Super-Walmart a few years ago, and we have a small one in Lincoln, which is nearer to us. Both are hugely busy, which is part of the reason that I hate them, so I don't see them closing. I hate Walmart because too much of the stuff they sell there is junk, yet they are so busy that I have to park so far from the door that I have to pack a lunch, there are never any seats at the coffee shop at Walmart, or on any of the benches along the front wall, people are frantic, and it's basically a miserable place. My wife would die without Walmart, however.

My Walmart is nice...don't have any of the problems you mention @Ken Anderson bit then I seldom go.

I'm an early bird so most places are usually empty anyway.

We try to go to Walmart early in the morning whenever we have to go, because that is about the only time you can park anywhere except at the far end of the lot. Most of my grocery shopping is done either at Kroger or Aldi’s , but when we need to go to Walmart for some reason, then I usually pick up any groceries that we need while I am there.
I am not impressed with the grocery section at Walmart, at least as far as the fresh fruits and veggies are concerned, and both Kroger and Aldi has a better selection of fresh foods.
For canned foods, we really do not buy a lot of those, but both tuna and shrimp in cans are cheaper at Walmart than anywhere else.

One of the things that Walmart is doing is the drive-through shopping. You order online, and then just drive through the pick-up line and get your groceries. We don’t ever do this, especially because we buy fresh foods, and I like to pick those out myself; but if a person were ordering canned or packaged foods, then just going through the pick-up lane would save a lot of time for someone who was working or in a hurry.

I can sure think of better ways to exercise than slugging through a Walmart, besides, Things that I want or need are ordered online and delivered to me free of charge.

My exact thoughts (or at least close) when I read the off-topic response as well, Chrissy.

We had an older one in Bullhead City, big, not sure how old, but the sprawl, if you care to call it that, has spread well-beyond the city limits into the County. Last year, a brand-new Wal-Mart was completed and opened 3 miles from our home. It's also huge, from the start far better-managed than the old one which was often out of stock of my items needed. No one else seems to sell Mennen's Pre-shave, and the off-brand I once bought at Dollar Tree, was useless, and made in china.

We have two Walmart Super Stores here. They are the mirror images of each other---groceries on the left in one, and on the right in the other, as you enter. It's bad enough just coming out of a store with an exit different from the entrance. I've never gotten used to that. Same thing with our two Lowes stores. I've limited shopping to just one of each now. ;)

Our two Sam’s club stores are like that as well. We usually go to the one closest to us, but when we do go to the other one, it seems all backwards.

Yes...they are huge ....but in cases like that I just think about all the extra steps that will show on my iwatch:)

I split the difference and park in the middle.:)

We have a super Walmart here. I go 2 or 3 times a month. Their prices are very competitive.

I don't buy meats or deli items from them. I use our local grocery store for that.

I love the pet section as all of their prices are hard to beat.

Our Super Walmart is always crowded and it is open 24/7. It's clean and always well stocked.

They are very good at reminding you of all the things you don't really need but will buy anyway LOL

As for the walking part .. yep .. it's a great place to put on a few miles. It's warm and dry inside. There are quite a few seniors who make it a daily meet up. In the winter months when the weather is not so nice it keeps giving a reason to get those shoes on and keep the heart pumping.

I love our Super Walmart .. unless I am in a hurry then I avoid it completely.

If they don't have it in stock you can order it and have it shipped to the store at no extra charge.
