A disease that was so rare it was hardly mention in medical books it the early century. When about 1950 came along and they started their phobia on cholesterol and started statin drugs did Alzheimers exploded. They are now claiming that a large percentage of the population are going to have this problem in the near future.

Or they called it something else back in the day before doctors were only a little smarter than you and me.

The statin drugs and cholesterol phobia are definitely part of the problem, but there is more than just the statins causing this problem, in my opinion.
From what I have read, Alzheimer’s is a type of diabetes that affects the brain, and they are actually calling it type 3 diabetes now.
When our cells get bombarded with more sugar than they can absorb, and they become glucose resistant, then we can get type 2 diabetes. If it is the brain cells which cannot get the glucose that we need for our brain to function properly, then the brain is not going to work right, and it is slowly going to die off and we lose our ability to think properly and remember things.
The reason that coconut oil has been helping people is because it is a MCT oil (medium chain triglyceride) and it can be absorbed by the brain and used as fuel.
If people would not eat a diet that contains so many processed carbs (sweets, chips, etc), and eat real , Whole Foods, then not so many people would have a problem with either of these diseases.
Carbs from natural foods have other nutrients in them, and the sugar/starch is processed much slower than what we get in (for example) a piece of apple pie. We can indulge in these kinds of food occasionally and it is not a problem, but so many people now live on carry-out food that is so processed that there is very little resemblence to the actual living food that it was processed from.

It could also be because people died much earlier, too. What was the life expectancy in the early 1900s?

What was the life expectancy in the 1940s Alzheimer was rare than also. The brain is 75% by weight cholesterol so lets get rid of it smart move. Ha Ha
The part of the brain effected by Alzheimer is 100% cholesterol it is the myelin that surrounds the axon of some nerve cells, forming an electrically insulating layer.

    Alzheimer's was originally called "dementia".

I have some early indications of the disease, buy most people would never know it.

Dementia is different than Alzheimer. Dementia is usually related to age but not the cause. The use of memory enhancing drugs such as hydergine and piracetam will provide excellent prevention of dementia when used to augment good nutrition and supplement program and colloidal minerals. If you have any digestion problems you are not getting proper nutrition. Even a vitamin b-1 can cause Korsakoff's syndrome which is very similar to Alzheimers.

Thankfully Ive not met anyone personally that has it and as far back as I can remember with relatives nobody had it.

Just doesn't seem to run in my family thank goodness...and nobody really died young.....youngest was my mom at 83.

My grandmother was diabetic and died when she was 87 but no dementia or Alzheimer's.
