Mixed nuts with 37%-100% Cashews...also Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Most any snack that contains plenty of Salt or Sugar! Hal
Well will share a true story here, dad had a grocery store and had sales reps come in all the time, I was in an east Texas town working and had a man speak to me and seemed to know me he was a rep that called on my dad and saw me there in his store, the rep worked for Planter's nuts, he was crediting the store for some bent cans of cashews one can was huge 64 oz he gave it to me, I tossed it in the seat when I started home shortly I stopped to open it to snack, ate to many and put in in the back seat well in about 5 minutes I was stopping getting it back, I wound up locking it in the trunk for the ride home to keep from eating more. I could not quit. To this day am just as bad so do not buy them.
Peanut butter is good on toast too. Sometimes I sprinkle sugar on top of it. I like these, if they're really fresh, with just plain old butter. I think they come in wheat also.
My sister's friend, Gladys Pushman, worked for Pepperidge Farms for many years in Westmont, Illinois. She bore her husband 5 daughters over those years. He desperately wanted a son! The sixth child was.......a SON! Gladys got a brain tumor of some sort, fought it for some time, then succumbed. Meanwhile, the daughters while finishing high school came home one by one....pregnant! Her husband, Rick, was a good guy. They were two of very few real friends my sister and BIL ever had. Sorry if I'm "off-base". Frank
I 'm the same as @Chrissy Cross , it's not so much a snack with me, but a binge... Let's get something straight here, peanut butter is the devils' food..I have no idea how anyone can eat that muck...*yuuuuuck*** I love Dark chocolate Coated raisins too..but I have to only eat them in small amounts otherwise I'd be never off the loo..sorry TMI.. My favourite is Aldi dark chocolate... I have to buy the large bars because they are more difficult to eat much of it than the smaller bars I love smokey bacon flavour crisps but I only have them once in a blue moon otherwise I'd eat them forever... ...and of course there's nothing to beat freshly baked white bread with butter or a chunk of brie or Stilton cheese , which I have maybe once every few weeks as a treat... I always have a pack of dried pitted dates and dried prunes in the cupboard at all times...
Many snack foods I like, but must hide them,as hubby eats everything not nailed down. I can have a few here and there- he feels the need to eat it all or most of it at once.I am not a big candy person, but bought some small butterfingers and hid them the other day. One is enough for me to satisfy my sweet tooth after a meal. I did put some in a dish for him to find--they are gone..but I gots mine
If I am being good I love radishes and celery. When I am in an ornery mood it's usually spoonfuls of peanut butter or some kettle cooked potato chips and some chocolate chip cookies.
One of my favorite snacks is apple slices with peanut butter on them. Sorry, @Holly Saunders. I also like pecans shaken with olive oil and roasted in the oven. I'm going to make some in a few minutes.
Just one of the nice events they have here at the Assisted Living joint periodically. Free for residents and paid for family and quests.
Lon, Another great looking meal! Years ago I had a friend that worked in an assisted living facility and he said the buffets were difficult because so many of the residents used wheelchairs, rollators, and walkers. How does your dining room handle buffet service?
Someone once said when they got to the point where they needed assisted living or a nursing home...they were going to choose to retire full time on a Cruise ship. I wonder if that would really be an option?
