I don't remember. I usually remove dots in titles. You can edit your title but I think the same time limit applies as to editing thread content - currently 12 hours.

I know you don't like dots in the title @Ken Anderson ....I make a point of not putting them there. I do use a lot of dots in my post though. I hope you don't mind that because I'm not willing to change that....it just makes it quicker and easier for me. :)

Yes, you can edit a title but I think it's one more step than a regular edit.

Wasn't sure about time limit but good to know it's 12 hrs.

I don't mind if you use them in posts. Whatever is comfortable. I don't get upset when someone uses them in a title, either. I just usually remove them. Once in a while, it makes sense to have three dots at the end of a title, but usually not.

Dots? Dare anyone say something against dots? Why...…...they lend a time of thought and if I may, an air of profundity to an otherwise complacent piece of literature. Certainly, Dot is even short for Dorothy which in the Greek translation means a "gift from God"!!

In my opinion, there is a vast shortage of dots and I will continue to do my best to breed the little darlings until every written script that mankind puts to the parchment is filled from margin to margin with them!
    Dotters of the World....……...Unite!
My goodness, pointillists would be absolutely lost without them...…………….

I hope that there's no misunderstanding.
I meant the dots I had used with "O.K." in the title of my thread and was glad that Ken removed them because they are not commonly used in English when writing OK, are they?
Just wanted to make sure I followed convention. I don't have anything against dots elsewhere.

There tends to be a vast shortage of periods as well...and of other things, too. In contrast, exclamation marks are being overused and so are capital letters... No matter what the convention is... (six dots here ;))

Then, just to get back on track...……..we can easily say that dots are OK, Oscar Kilo, Okie Dokie and for the health folks, Omega3 & D3...…………:)

I'm amazed that at especially this time of year, that people aren't giving... dots.. for Christmas! Even the Magi knew about dots and one special one was called *star* and it led them to Bethlehem. :)

It's because of dots that people aren't even naming their daughters Dorothy anymore, and to bring things back on-topic, I say that is not okay.

Thinking in the abstract (as I often do) using the abbreviation of Okay to OK might have one last significance. In today's very PC world, one might have some concerns with using the word okay in its entirety.
The person who suffers from Logophobia might be offended and even get nauseated because that person has a fear of words.

Now, do not under any circumstance confuse Logophobia with Trypophobia for one with Logophobia only fears whole words and not the dots that come after them, as one does who suffers from the later.

I only have legophobia....and that's the fear of stepping on a piece of lego in my bare feet.

Fortunately this only occurs in Illinois when I visit the 3 youngest grandsons.

If you teach them how to make giant "okay's" out of the legos, you might stand a chance of not stepping on them plus it acts as a teaching moment. :)

I have been noticing that the hand symbol for “okay/OK” has now become the symbol meaning “white power”. Even though this same symbol has been used by many races of people in many different countries, as a universal symbol for the word “okay”, now it supposedly has a totally different meaning.
According to the new information, the 3 upward fingers make a W, and the palm of the hand and circle made by the thumb and forefinger make the letter P.

What I find interesting is that if you look online, you can see bunches of pictures of black people making that symbol, including former president Obama.
As far as I can tell, no one called it anything else besides “OK” until Donald Trump was elected President, because in 2017, it starts showing up as being called the white power symbol instead of just the okay symbol.
My guess is that was done deliberately, as part of the scheme to make Trump seem racist.
