You may ask, @Holly, but you won't get an answer from me.

    I'm not being hard-headed, it's just something that I couldn't live with.

Yup, probably bad spelling. Someone wrote about riding a to wheeler in a three wheeler thread.

Just kidding you a little @Hal Pollner.
Everyone has joined forums and then opted out at some point and we all have our reasons for doing so.
I think though, you may have set a record.
12 minutes between your joined post and your quit post is a hard one to beat! :)

When I'm indulging in one hobby, others lie dormant, or fade away altogether.

The biggest and most expensive loss of interest was my investment in Astronomical Telescopes and membership in the High Desert Astronomical Society, of which I'm no longer a member. This hobby had cost me over $20,000 in equipment and the fellowship of many members with whom I have attended many wilderness Star Parties.

My fun with Motorcycles stopped when I turned 70, and I haven't twisted a throttle for over 12 years.

I'm currently active with my 127-foot O-scale Model Railroad layout, which takes up almost the entire room in my 20' x 25' game room. It isn't nearly as expensive as Astronomy, and is not so esoteric, thus appealing to most visitors.

I used to belong to a Senior Citizens Dance Band, but most members have passed away, and the band is currently fronted by a blind guitarist who I didn't get along with, so I quit.

I still have fun playing my Grand Piano and my string instruments, Guitar, Banjo, and Ukulele, and jam with my son-in-law when they visit from Chicago.

I still have an interest in Guns, and my wife and I occasionally go to an outdoor shooting range, her with her .22 Ruger target pistol and I with my .45 Ruger Blackhawk six-shooter. I have several Air Rifles which I haven't used in years.

My music hobby is listening to Classical works, and I have a big collection of the world's greatest music on cd's.

Going out to eat once a week is something I look forward to, and I always have great enjoyment playing with our Dogs and Cats!

Hal, I envy your musical ability. I wanted so badly to play anything with strings growing up. No talent. I've had a number of motor bikes over the years. I used to take a bike to climb hills over in New Mexico several timess a year on camping trips. I enjoyed all my bikes. For a number of years I also rode a bicycle, riding seventy or more miles a week. Two other hobbies I enjoyed were photography and archery. I belonged to a very active photographic club that held monthly contest in numerous catrcgories. Had several retired professional photographers in the club and dark room experts from Texas Tech University. Target archery was another hobby I enjoyed. Clubs competed against one another and I got pretty good at that and photography.

Your telescope collection is enormous. Looks like fun but I am very uneducated in astronomy and the use of any telescope. It do indeed look as though you have enjoyed life. A good post by the way.

PS: What was your Phd in?

    Dear @Bill Boggs,

No Doctorate, Bill! I have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, from Cal State University, Long Beach, 1960.

I no longer own a lot of Scopes, just a 10" Dobsonian Reflector, and a 6" Maksutov with computerized locating and tracking.

I forgot to include it in my post, but I was also into Photography. I learned how to process B&W film in the Army during off-duty hours, and when I returned home, I built 2 darkrooms. I also had a 45-pound Bear recurved bow, so I was into target archery for awhile too!

My latest wheeled device is a 21-speed Delta-style Trike. (shown)

    Thanks for your comments!

@Hal Pollner My misunderstanding about the Phd. I had a darkroom also I used mostly for black & white. For the most part it was easier to send away color and slide film. Consequently, I had a forty-two pound Bear Recurve. I found I could hold it back against the corner of my mouth longer with no shake or strain. I wanted a 4X5 but never got one, using instead a couple of 35s. Some grown up toys provide a lot of entertainment. Your trike is a beaut.

I just upgraded my trike with a set of fatter tires....2.125" instead of 1.5".

It corrected my trip computer error from 5% to 1%, and they rider a little softer, with 30 PSI instead of 50 PSI.

The last time I had a Trike was when I was 3 years old, in 1939.

Now here I am on a Trike, 80 years later!
