    And I'm happy that there's talk going on about leaving Afghanistan. 17 Years and we did not better than the 20 years Russia spent thereWe've lost way too much blood and treasure for what?

    I can't say I'm unhappy about leaving Afghanistan. Syria, the way it was done, the fate of the Kurds, these things concern me although deep down I don't want the USA in these type wars. So, as a question of style v. substance, I choose the substance. Don't like Trump as you guys must know, but it appears he made a mistake & did something I like. LOL

    After President Trump's State of the Union message I am even more thankful he is our President. And I can certainly see Trump's personality becoming more humble since his taking Office. We needed this man to take the Office of Presidency and help "put back" into America what former Presidents have given or taken away from our Country. And I believe with all my heart that Trump is an answer to many Americans prayers...including mine.

    To get up each day and face the "enemy" takes a lot of courage and that's what our President Trump does each and every day since he was elected to this Office. He is in all essence "in full combat in a war zone" and even though the enemy surrounds him....he manages to get more things done to "Make America Great Again" than any President has in a very long time.

    He didn't take this job because he needed it or the daily warfare it brings....but his love for America and Americans and his discernment of how our Government Officials, etc. were destroying America has given us a "David" against Goliath. He needs our prayers because it is us and our Country he is fighting the battle for...each and every day.

    God bless President Trump and keep guiding him and providing him with everything he needs each day for the battle.

    “Record-low unemployment rates for African Americans, Hispanics, and women. Rising wages and tax cuts for working-class families. A historic bipartisan criminal justice reform bill to give non-violent offenders a second chance.”

    What's not to like?

    @Shirley Martin

    Only one thing: his personality. However, it strikes me that a less self-centered, willing to fight, personality could never succeed with the odds so stacked against him. Were it Jimmy Carter, for example, he would have folded very quickly. Or George H. W., or his son, or Obama. Clinton? As predictable as a snake, so, no comparison.

    Thus I must cede to President Trump his successes against overwhelming odds. I could never like him as a person, but that fact bears no relevance to the realities of Washington.

    As I have said before, I don't like him handling "personnel matters" on Twitter, and I do wish he would vet his appointments more closely. He apparently uses the job itself to judge an employee's competence when conducting his private business. He seems to believe in giving people a chance to succeed, but if they don't succeed, or fail, he fires them, just as he did on his TV show. That doesn't work so well in the upper levels of government.

    I think it does work at the upper levels. It makes his job a little harder because he has to find a replacement. MSM is all over him because of it but he's getting the job done.

    I don't mind him speaking his mind on twitter...to me it shows he'd rather be up front and to your face about what he thinks, etc, instead of speaking things behind our backs. No one can say they don't know where they or their opinions stand with Trump. :)

    Yep, I don't mind him speaking on issues or talking about the media, or his critics, but when he starts attacking members of his own cabinet that he chose to be in their positions...it should be done in private, not on an open forum.

    I don't have a Twitter account so I only get to read what Trump says on Twitter when it's in the news, etc. ... I do agree with you that if he's attacking members in his own cabinet that he chose...he should do it in private. But then again if they have attacked him in public first...I think he wouldn't be Trump if he didn't have something to say back to them in public. :).

    Most of the time it is only Trump who criticizes his subordinates. The "employees don't generally say much until they are out of government and no longer work for him.

    Although he has had some bad picks, trying to appease and accommodate the GOP establishment, most of the subordinates he has had trouble with were hold-overs that he has been stuck with because they threaten to impeach him whenever he fires anyone.

    I found his fight with Sessions to be particularly egregious. He shoudl have questioned him more thoroughly prior to nomination, and then just fired him if he couldn't work out the problems behind closed doors. As I said, a competent manager doesn't do "public spankings" to his employees.
