Once...just once there was a snake swimming in my daughter's pool when I was almost ready to get in it....you can bet I check really well before getting in that pool every since that one time.
Oh I would too babs... Fortunately I haven't seen a snake in decades here , and even when we're at our daughters' house in Southern Spain, we've never seen one..thank the Lord,... I'd be running as fast as I can the other way..lol
Are those venomous snakes that you are posting pictures of , @Holly Saunders , or just regular snakes with a nasty temper ? Actually, I think that ALL snakes have a nasty temper ! At least all of the ones that I have seen were aggressive if annoyed by something, venomous or otherwise. Your vacation pictures are awesome, @Babs Hunt . I think that you said, but wasn’t it somewhere on the panhandle of Florida where you met your sisters on the beach trip ? Robin and I drive home along the western coast of Florida after our trip to Orlando last spring, and then along the southern coastline of the panhandle. We were close to the ocean most of the trip home. Both she and I love seeing the ocean and were talking about how much fun it would be to be able to just rent a condo and spend a few days right there on the beaches. If I could choose where I would live, I think that I would spend the summers in north Idaho, and the winters on some Florida beach. We are having another warmish day here, but by the weekend it is supposed to start into another cold few days, with nights back into the 20’s and maybe even the teens. Says it will get up to 70 by mid-day, and I am seriously looking forward to that ! Time to go out and play in the front yard.....
Actually, three of my sisters live in the Panhandle of Florida...one in Pensacola, one in Fort Walton Beach, and one in Mary Esther. This Sister's Birthday Bash was celebrated in a Gulf Shores, Alabama Condo so we all would have to do a little traveling.
@Yvonne Smith , no those snakes are not venomous, but they can give a nasty bite if annoyed, or held... ... they're called Horseshoe Whip snakes and are native to Europe particularly Spain...
Our Cardinals are back! When the construction workers started building the duplex in front of our home the Cardinals went away and we weren't sure if they would return or not. But they've been back for a couple of weeks although their visits were off and on at first. Now they are coming to feed every day and I'm so happy about this. The Cardinals have been part of our lives ever since we moved here and it just wouldn't be the same without them....so welcome back Cardinals. It has been a very mild winter here in Louisiana and Spring is blooming forth all around us now. My bright yellow flowers that love to grow in and around the drainage ditches are everywhere I go now and even though I know they are just weeds...their bright, cheery colors just brings joy to my heart. The plants that have been dormant in the ground are springing forth now too, along with the carpet of clovers. Spring is springing forth and winter is letting go of the earth once more. Love it. Many places I know are still experiencing harsh winter weather....I hope wherever you are....Spring will be blooming forth for each of you soon too. Have a day that brings smiles to your faces and joy to your hearts.
Cold wet and even icy in some areas..Lordy this needs to end. Anyway a rather dreary cold day for next several days. Good news is- Don't have to be out in it unless I want to
Good Morning! Would you believe, the tulip trees and Bradford pears are blooming, and the privet is coming out. That means lawn mowing is just around the corner!
Yes we already have had people mowing their lawns here in the Uk this last week..it's been such glorious weather, although we did have heavy rain yesterday for the first time in weeks. Today it's sunny again but not nearly as warm. yesterday I had my visit with a new physiotherapist ( i changed from the last one because she didn't seem to be doing any good).. and he believes my kneecap is knocked out of line and is facing the wrong direction, which would explain the excruciating pain I've had for a long time, including my shin and thigh. To get one specific X-ray ( a Skyline) would show him exactly going on , but to achieve that end would mean jumping through hoops on the NHS and be referred from one doctor to a consultant etc , and would take potentially months.. so instead I've chosen to pay out of pocket for it, and he's referred me to a Top Hospital in Harley street, who will do the X-rays ( 3 separate different types needed) in one day and the results will be on CD to give to the PT...I'm just waiting for a call from the hospital today with the appointment ..I'm desperate for some solutions Anyway. I hope you all have a pain free day....
@Holly Saunders...I sure hope you find the answers that will help stop the pain you have been experiencing. I know I've said this before...but it's a shame how long you have to wait to get the medical help you need. America doesn't have the best health care either but we are blessed that in most cases we don't have to wait forever to see Specialists and get the tests, etc. run to find out what is going on with our health. Praying the answers to your health problems will come soon for you. Have a blessed day everyone.
